Aguascalientes, Ags., October 31st, 2024Mexican Paralympics athlete Kenia Villalobos Kenia Villalobos, alumni of Diploma in Sports Management of the Universidad Panamericana, Aguascalientes campusrepresented Mexico at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Gamesstanding out in the paratriathlon and achieving eleventh place in the world.
Since she was a little girl, Kenia Yesenia Villalobos Vargas dreamed of being dreamed of being a high performance athlete. Her sports career has been a journey of achievements in international competitions, where she has won important titles, such as the gold medal in the World Series in Montreal, Canada 2023; gold in the Paratriathlon World Cup in Long Beach, United States, 2023; and silver in the Triathlon World Championship in Pontevedra, Spain.
In May 2024, his victory at the Montreal World Series secured him a place at the Paris Paralympics. Paris Paralympicsculminating a decade of effort, commitment and perseverance in the sport.
"The experience of getting to an Olympic Games is completely unique, as you find yourself competing alongside Olympic and world medalists. It's a matter of believing it, knowing that you're there because you have what it takes to compete at that level."shares Kenya.
A promoter of sports culture in students.
Kenya began her career in swimming, but in 2020, with the guidance of her coach Heriberto Olivares Villalobosshe made the leap to Paratriathlon, one of the most demanding disciplines, which includes 750 meters of open water swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and five kilometers of running, in addition to rigorous training in the gym.
Coach Olivares has been instrumental in Kenya's development and also in training students for the triathlon team at Universidad Panamericana.
