ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; May 3, 2023.- The social work that surrounds our university community university community is reflected in initiatives such as the rural family promotion held last month, during Easter Week, which seeks to improve the living conditions of families living in rural areas, in terms of social, economic and cultural aspects.

One of the promotions, led by Marifer Reynoso, involved eight Panamericana students and benefited around 2,000 people in Mezcala de la Asunción. Activities included the delivery of food, personal hygiene kits and pity kits, as well as the waterproofing and painting of churches and chapels in the area.

In addition, handicrafts and catechesis were carried out with children, all thanks to the participation of 32 families during Holy Week, as well as the economic collaboration of the community.

Rural promotion by Raquel Acosta

On the other hand, the activity in Tapalpa, led by Raquel Acosta, was attended by an 8th semester student from Panamericana. The activities included home improvements, catechesis for the children, a trip to the river for the children, hygiene workshops, an Easter celebration for the children and handicrafts.

These activities benefited ten families in the community of San Antonio in Juanacatlan, for a total of 55 people.

The Rinconada Universitarias center has organized this activity for two years and the people of the community were very grateful for the personalized attention given to them.

Rural promotion by Chema Ochoa

Altovalle, led by Chema Ochoa, had the participation of 11 Panamericana students and benefited 450 people. The activities included helping in the construction of the chapel of the ranch "El Palomar", painting the Kindergarten of the Ranch, visits to families of the Ranch, meditations with the university community and attention of the chaplain. These activities were carried out thanks to the commitment and social collaboration of the community.

Rural promotion by Mariana Fernández

Finally, Mariana Fernandez, leading Alhena, had the participation of 23 students from Panamericana, from 1st to 8th semester of the following careers: ESDAI; Law, Marketing, Civil Engineering, Pedagogy, Psychology, Innovation and Design.

The activities included visits to all the houses in the community, help to the communities to make food, activities for children, youth and ladies, crafts and talks about Easter. All these activities helped a total of 300 people.

All the rural promotion activities show the effort and generosity of the university community to help, bring joy and personalized attention to those who need it most, as well as the importance of collaboration and support between people and institutions.

The Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara campus recognizes and congratulates the participation of the university community in these social activities, endorsing the institution's commitment to transforming the world and training young people who live to serve.
