ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; December 18, 2023.- The Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara has completed the 2023 in which the Social Commitment department carried out 21 high impact events in which 5,046 volunteers from the university community participated. university community.
Throughout the year, we held everything from social work fairs to donation and disability awareness campaigns; we planted trees, collected donations and promoted environmental and social awareness. Some of the most outstanding events were:
5th University Reforestation
Thanks to the collaboration of 93 volunteers, a total of 150 trees were planted in Tala, Jalisco. This volunteering was achieved with the help of Bosque Urbano de Extra A.C.
Donation and collection campaigns
Six campaigns were carried out in order to support different causes and raise awareness among the university community for the construction of a better world. In total, 7,326 donation items were collected thanks to the help of 368 volunteers.
Paper recycling campaigns
Two recycling campaigns were carried out, in which, with the help of 60 volunteers, 944.80 kilograms of paper, cardboard and newspaper were collected, as well as 15 kilograms of PET bottle caps.
Social Work Institutions Fairs
Two Social Work Institutions Fairs were organized so that Panamericana students could get to know some of the institutions and projects with which we have agreements for Social Work. A total of 1,238 volunteers participated, with the participation of 68 social work institutions.
COLABORE Awareness Events
In order to generate an environment of inclusion of people with disabilities in the university community, five events were organized to raise awareness of Down Syndrome, Autism, motor disability when using a wheelchair and visual impair ment. A total of 450 volunteers participated.
Christmas Under the Tree 2023
The seventh edition of the social project "Christmas under the tree" was carried out thanks to the willingness of 74 teachers, administrative staff and students of Panamericana, who did their bit by giving a gift to the 79 sons and daughters of the employees of the Operations department. In total, 51 families benefited.
Recapitulating figures
Throughout 2023, 4,526 students, 290 collaborators, 22 alumni and 208 external volunteers participated, for a total of 5,046 volunteers.
