12th Annual Engaged Management Scholarship Conference

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; September 12, 2022.- The 12th Annual Engaged Management Scholarship (EMS) Conference was held from September 8 to 10, organized by the Executive Council and the Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) Program of the Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Campus.

EMS 2022 Conference

The EMS 2022 Conference provided a global venue for management academics and a growing worldwide group of practitioner-oriented DBA programs. This year, there were 150 attendees from different countries and another 50 online attendees.

Engaged Management Scholarship

The theme of the event was Value Creation through Engaged Management Scholarship and brought together doctoral students , alumni and faculty from Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programs to focus attention on accelerating engaged management research and evidence-based management.

Internationally renowned speakers included Tom Sosnoff, founder and CEO of tastytrade; Miguel Curiel, VP and General Manager of Driscoll's Mexico; Lars Mathiassen, professor at Georgia State University; Juan Carlos Baker, CEO of Ansley; Idelfonso Guajardo, former Minister of Economy of Mexico; and Francisco Mayorga, former Secretary of Agriculture of Mexico, among others.

Bart Cambré, Dean of Research and Valorization, and Professor of Business Research Methods at the Antwerp Management School in Belgium, shared the following:

"This event has been really great because it's a mix of Tequila and Science. I think it's really interesting and helpful for the participants to see them present and receive valuable feedback, so they can proceed to get a PhD and become a faculty member. I love helping them grow and hope to see as many PhDs completed as possible."

For her part, Ekin Pellegrini, Associate Dean of the University of Missouri at St. Louis, stated that:

"This is my seventh year at the Engaged Management Scholarship conferences, and the Universidad Panamericana has been doing a fantastic job. Everyone is so welcoming, everything is so professional, everyone has a great time here. It's a unique atmosphere. I love the research that has been discussed here."
