ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; December 04, 2023.- The dedication of a team composed of students from various business disciplines from the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara has stood out on the international scene by reaching the finals of a global competition.
Outstanding International Participation
Traveling to Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada, the students presented consulting-type solutions to solve a complex business case. Rodrigo Prieto, a student of the Bachelor's Degree in Administration and Finance, together with his classmates; Luis Castellanos, Family Business Administration and Management, Eduardo Montes, Bachelor's Degree in Administration and Marketing, and Karla Hernandez, who is studying Human Resources with a double degree in Administration and Management, formed the winning team that stood out among more than 60 teams from 22 schools from 17 countries around the world.
"Participating in various competitions has prepared us to achieve this outstanding position at the world level. We are excited to give back to the University and our coaches part of what they have done for us, by obtaining a place among the 5 finalist universities worldwide. In addition, we are excited to apply everything we have learned throughout this process both inside the classroom and outside, making it an excellent place in the final for the University," says Karla Hernandez.
"I am very excited to be part of this competition, because we have already experienced many competitions together and to go to a competition so far from home, to put UP's name up high, makes me very proud." Rodrigo Prieto said.
Boosting Entrepreneurial Skills
The competition, which encompasses diverse areas of study focusing on professional ethics and business practices, has become a crucial stage for the exchange of ideas and solutions. This team from Universidad Panamericana has been selected to represent all of Latin America and other regions of Europe in this prestigious final, an honor that underscores the educational quality of the institution and the ability of its students to excel at an international level. The competitive process, which involved the resolution of business cases with the presentation of an executive report before world-class judges, has been an opportunity for these business students. Their efforts led them to place among the top 5 worldwide and to seek the first place in the world final to be held in 2024.
"The great combination of case solving knowledge and classes every semester at the university has developed my rational and analytical business sense to a great extent, which I have been able to bring to my professional life today. Truly, I recommend any student to venture into this type of internship in order to really develop their skills to their fullest potential," recommends eighth semester Management and Marketing student Eduardo Montes.

In addition, the team's coaches, MBA María Begoña Cota Mendia and MBA Carlos Iván Ayala Araujo, have demonstrated unwavering dedication, guiding the students to success with their experience and expertise. "Thanks to the extensive preparation of our coaches around case resolution and business in general, I am excited and confident that we will play a great role in this final," shared Rodrigo Prieto.
Now, the team is preparing to represent the university and the country in the world finals to be held in Asia next semester.
