Mexico City, June 30, 2023.- In order to support and recognize the efforts of outstanding students, the School of Nursing of the School of Health SciencesUniversidad Panamericana, held the Anabel Centeno Foundation Scholarship competition.

About Anabel Centeno
In 2023, the School of Nursing, with the help of MBA Anabel Centeno, alumni of the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE), decided to promote talent through a scholarship competition that evaluates knowledge and hard and soft skills, as well as leadership and entrepreneurship.
Originally from Guadalajara, Centeno, 33, is the Chief Executive Officer of CCA Logistics Group, which serves various sectors such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, among others, and leads international negotiations in Dubai.
In addition to her role as a businesswoman, Anabel has several programs and a foundation with her name, from which she seeks to support and promote women in Mexico, especially young women seeking to achieve professional or academic goals.
Anabel Centeno Foundation Scholarship
In an interview, Anabel stated that "the key for the country to improve is education, family and school. For this it is very important to improve the health system, empower women and youth in general".
He added that "if you contribute to society, you will always be remunerated for the benefit of our country. At the foundation we support education, the environment, children, the empowerment of women and elderly people in a situation of abandonment".
While speaking about what inspired him to award this scholarship, he said "you realize that in the health sector of our country there are shortages, not only of medicines, but of personnel and the work of nurses is very important".
"A doctor requires a professional team of excellence to achieve the patient's recovery, therefore, today we support this noble work, since nursing is a very necessary and future discipline that must be supported."
Comprehensive training
Marta Serena Santos Jacinto, winner of the 100% scholarship, comes from the Centro de Estudios Tecnológicos Industrial y de Servicios n°38 in the state of Oaxaca.
She affirms: "Nursing is a very noble job where we can do a lot of good for other people. I live with many older adults and they are my inspiration, being able to give them a better quality of life is part of my goals (...) I am very happy and eager to start".
She also adds about joining Panamericana: "I think that UP will give me a complete education, not only will I gain knowledge about nursing, but also teach me how to be more empathetic and help patients with love and attention".
Invaluable opportunity
The second place went to Itzamany Jolette Olivares Zavala, who obtained a 90% scholarship. Montefalco High Schoolin Jonacatepec, Morelos.
After winning the scholarship, Itzamany said, "I feel very happy, it is a great opportunity and a great support. I think UP Nursing is a very good school, because in addition to the high academic level, the values are something that brings you in a comprehensive way".
She also adds: "I worked hard to be able to enter the contest, so with a lot of effort everything can be achieved, the limits are set by you" .
Nothing is impossible
In addition, the Panamericana awarded an 80% scholarship to Cedrick Yael Perez Rodriguez, a graduate of the high school of the Fundación Azteca A.C.in Mexico City.
Cedrick confirms that he wants to study nursing for a great personal reason "nursing is intrinsic to me, it is a noble work that is close to my family, that is why I entered the contest, to have the possibility to fight for my dreams".
On the academic path of excellence that has distinguished him, and that today has brought him to Panamericana, he says: "My mother has always inspired me. She has always been behind me and has shown me that, even when things get tough, you always have to stand up, shake off the dust and move forward".
To those who, like him, are looking for a scholarship, he says: "Nothing is impossible, everything is possible with preparation and dedication and you have to believe in your own talent".
Nursing: the backbone
During the scholarship presentation, Dr. Sthepanie Derive said, "Nursing is the center of activity in a hospital, it is part of the backbone of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, it is the center for caring for the patient with quality, efficiency and humanity."
"The Universidad Panamericana is one of the few private universities where we teach nursing, so today we are promoting the students through this scholarship, which will allow people who can not access with their own resources to study the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, to do so through this support," he said.
