Mexico City, February 19, 2024.- In a master conference, held in the auditorium of the Universidad PanamericanaIn a master conference, held in the auditorium of the Mexican Business School, the renowned Mexican businessman Arturo Elías Ayub, presented his most recent book titled The Entrepreneur: 10 steps to start or enhance your businessin which he offered students and academics a glimpse into the reality of entrepreneurship, its challenges and rewards.
During the event, Elías Ayub shared personal experiences and valuable advice, emphasizing that entrepreneurship is a path not without sacrifice, but potentially rewarding for those with the necessary passion and courage.
Entrepreneurship is not a path for everyone
From the beginning of his talk, Ayub was clear in his message: entrepreneurship is not a path for everyone. "It is an act of solitude where no one ever believes you, you are going to hit the rock and mold it."
"You have to have the passion to say 'I want to get up now because I want to go to my business' or go to sleep and think about what change you're going to make tomorrow; that's the passion I'm talking about. When you start to see results, it's one of those emotions that you can't describe. I start (my book) by saying, 'please don't start if you don't have that passion and courage,'" he added.
However, he also highlighted the immense gratification that comes with success and the importance of entrepreneurship in the creation of decent jobs, stressing that entrepreneurs are fundamental to economic development.
In this way, he pointed out: "Engineer Slim says that the only way to fight poverty is with employment, and obviously with dignified employment, do you know who provides jobs? The entrepreneurs".
Indispensable qualities
The businessman did not limit himself to talking about business; he also shared his philosophy of life, which includes a balance between physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. From his exercise routine to the importance of meditation and gratitude, Elías Ayub made it clear that business success goes hand in hand with personal well-being.
One of the highlights of the conference was when he addressed the topic of artificial intelligence (AI), presenting it as an inevitable wave of change and highlighting the importance of the ethical approach around it .
"This is a tsunami and you can't stop it; it 's going to be up to all of us how we use it, and everyone's values are going to determine the ethics of artificial intelligence."
On the subject of leadership, the businessman defined the ideal leader as "the one whom others follow out of conviction, the one who convinces others that they want to get to the same place; for me, the basic word is humility". This vision highlights the importance of simplicity and the ability to listen, qualities that, according to him, are indispensable for success in any field.
"Happiness is not googled".
Elías Ayub concluded the event with the following words: "happiness cannot be googled, happiness is sought every day and for me it is not a goal, it is a path that you work on every day; that is the important part, to be happy, so the only thing I can, with all my heart, is to wish you; may you be very happy".
