Mexico City, February 22, 2024.- In order to promote activities related to innovation, STEM, sustainability and diversity, equity and inclusion, the Universidad Panamericana and 3M celebrated the signing of a collaboration agreement last Friday, February 9, at the Panamericana facilities.
As part of the signing ceremony, the Mentoring Program 2024 was also launched, which aims to transform Mexico by connecting university students with six 3M executive leaders. This program seeks to inspire students to continue their careers with innovation skills, solid leadership, and thus enrich their knowledge so they can develop their full potential.
Fernanda Guarro Hernández, general director of 3M, and Erica Chávez Ordoñez, R&D Operations Manager for Mexico, were present at the event. On behalf of Panamericana, Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, rector of campus Mexico; Mr. Salvador Beltrán del Río, director of Institutional Development and Ms. Fernanda Haro, director of the SMART Center.
Adding up in the construction of a better Mexico
In her message, the CEO of 3M said: "Investing in mentoring and training young Mexican innovators is transcendental, because we are cultivating the future of innovation in Mexico.
He also added, "Through our mentoring program, we are connecting college students with 3M executive leaders, giving them the opportunity to develop skills in corporate environments and gain hands-on experience in the world of innovation."
Dr. Santiago García added: "This project strengthens the relationship that the university has with 3M, and integrates the university's mission to train young people who can, with their knowledge and leadership, have a positive influence.
"It is a pleasure to collaborate with 3M so that these talented young people, who today join the mentoring program, find their purpose in life and thereby help build a better Mexico," he added.
Joint commitment
This strategic alliance between Universidad Panamericana and 3M demonstrates the joint commitment of both institutions to the integral development of Mexican youth and the promotion of innovation and sustainability in the country.
Similarly, the launch of the 2024 Mentoring Program marks a crucial milestone in this collaboration, as this program not only seeks to inspire students, but also to equip them with practical skills and foster the development of innovative leaders who will leave a positive mark on the national landscape.
