ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; August 4, 2023.—The Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Campus, in conjunction with the International Affairs Department, welcomed the 42 exchange students who will be studying at our university during the Fall 2023 semester.

Interculturalism on Campus

The international exchange program at the Pan-American aims to provide students with a unique and enriching educational experience that goes beyond the classroom, promoting personal growth, intercultural understanding, and global connection.

This year, 42 students from 15 different universities around the world will be studying at the Guadalajara campus, hailing from countries such as Germany (10), South Korea (1), Spain (3), France (14), Guatemala (2), the Netherlands (6), Italy (2), Japan (2), and Mexico (1)

Student Voices

“I chose this university because I’m completely in love with Mexico and its culture. I think this university offers many opportunities to international students—the course material, the program, and the social events are incredible,” said Eléna Ysewyn, a student from France.

“I came to UP because I want to experience Mexican culture and food, and besides, UP has a very good reputation,” said Ludwig Joste, a student from Germany.

Broadening Perspectives

Dr. Rafael Hernández Cázares, Director of Institutional Development at the Guadalajara Campus, addressed the students, saying, “We have achieved many goals as a university, and now one of them is to become an international university. This program is very important and strategic for our university because it is helping us enhance our students’ professional profiles by sharing an international perspective with them.”

Panamericana welcomes 42 exchange students

Compared to previous years, Panamericana Campus Guadalajara enrolled 131 international students in 2019; 93 in 2020; 69 in 2021; 90 in 2022. This semester, we welcome 42 new students, who will join the more than 4,000 undergraduate students returning to classes on August 7 and the nearly 800 graduate students.

The Universidad Panamericana provide students and faculty with the opportunity to experience and share intercultural experiences. It also welcomes all new exchange students, appreciates the chance to learn about their perspectives, and hopes they will enjoy the culture, food, and people that make up our country.
