Universidad Panamericana and Singapore strengthen academic and business ties

Mexico City, January 17, 2025. In a transcendental event for academic internationalization and business development, the Universidad Panamericana signed a collaboration agreement with the Singapore-Mexico Chamber of Commercereaffirming its commitment to innovation and educational excellence.

The ceremony, held at the Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City campus, was attended by Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, President and CEO of Universidad Panamericana. Agustín García López LoaesaMexico's ambassador to Singapore and honorary president of the Singapore-Mexico Chamber of Commerce.

Also present were Dr. Héctor Xavier Ramírez Pérezvice-rector of the Panamericana University, Mexico City campus; and the MBA Alejandro Blanco GonzálezDirector of the Board and Founder of the Singapore-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, among other distinguished academic and business authorities.

Objectives of the agreement

The main objective of the agreement signed is to to promote the exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices between Mexico and Singapore, strengthening academic and business collaboration.strengthening academic and business collaboration.

As part of the agreement, it was announced the creation of an Academic Committee within the Singapore-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, where Universidad Panamericana will assume the role of lead agency.

Importance of Singapore in the region

In his speech, Dr. Hector Ramirez highlighted the importance of Singapore as a gateway to Asia and a model of innovation and development. "Our purpose is not to replicate Singapore, but to complement and learn from their growth strategies, taking advantage of our relationship to generate new opportunities for our students and academics"he said.

For his part, Ambassador Garcia Lopez highlighted the importance of the bilateral relationship between Mexico and Singapore, stressing that this agreement will be key to consolidate research projects, academic exchanges and strategic alliances. 

"Singapore is a benchmark in education, technology and innovation. This agreement will allow Universidad Panamericana to position itself as a key player in the training of talent with a global vision".said the diplomat.

Innovation and technology as the cornerstones of collaboration

During the event, a video was shown that showcased Singapore's technological advances and innovation capacity, from the development of smart cities to advanced solutions in manufacturing and sustainability. It also highlighted the fundamental role that the Chamber of Commerce has played in the consolidation of this relationship, facilitating access to business opportunities and international collaboration.

Future projection

The Rector of Universidad Panamericana, Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, emphasized that this alliance is a strategic step towards the expansion of knowledge and the internationalization of the institution. "We are confident that this collaboration will open new doors for our academic community and will strengthen the relationship between Mexico and Singapore on multiple levels," he said.he said.
