Dear Members of the University Community
Since the creation of the General Vice Rector's Office for Research (VGI), several efforts have been made to achieve institutional consolidation in research: the creation of internal structures, the definition of institutional policies and guidelines to organize some elements of the strategy, the institutional drive to offer the UP Research Promotion Fund for the three campuses and the design of a categorization model for professors, among others. These actions have allowed the institution to achieve significant growth in research results and in our visibility and social influence.
Based on this growth, in 2019, we undertook a diagnostic study and a dialogue with the academic community that has allowed us to identify more clearly the research areas where we have achieved greater impact and incidence. As a result of this analysis, we are pleased to present the Scientific Research Agenda 2022, a document that shows, in summary form, the research areas and strategic initiatives of our institution.
Thus, this work will serve as a basis to continue promoting our strategic axes: obtaining funds for research, applied research and the creation of an innovation and transfer ecosystem.
From the VGI we express our most sincere recognition to the entire academic and management community that work towards the fulfillment of the research objectives and we encourage them to continue building their academic careers with relevant research with a high impact on society.
