Zapopan, Jalisco; November 22, 2022.- Intellectual property relates to creations of the mind and grants a creator exclusive rights over his creation, patent or model.

Aware of the importance of this issue, at the Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara campus, intellectual property registration began in 2018 with the first application before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) on behalf of Centros Culturales de México, A.C. Just one year later, in 2019, 10 more were made and by 2022, a total of 20 applications are counted .
Quality and good management
During these years, 18 applications were submitted to the State Council for Science and Technology (COECyTJAL) under the Intellectual Property Support Program (PROPIN), all of which were approved.
Two important aspects stand out in this achievement: the quality of the inventors and the management capacity of the Center for Applied Research and Technology (CITA) of the Guadalajara campus under the direction of Dr. Fidencio Tapia Rodríguez.
For this reason, we would like to acknowledge the researchers-inventors of the engineering area: Omar Jiménez, Luis Amezcua, Fidencio Tapia, Oscar Sánchez Barba, Orlando Montoya, Leonardo Valdivia, Friné Velázquez, Carolina Del Valle, Fabiola Cortés, Gabriela Durán and Luis Alberto Rosa; and also those students who have participated in some of the projects.
Although the process of granting any legal figure of industrial property, patent, utility model or industrial design is long, so far two applications have been granted and the others are in process.
