What are COST Actions and what is their impact?
The COST Actions (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) are European programs that promote collaboration and knowledge exchange between researchers from different countries, helping to strengthen scientific and technical research worldwide.
Its impact is manifested in increased funding opportunities and the promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration.
Fermented Food Research
The Dr. Julieta Domínguez Soberanesa leading researcher at the Faculty of Engineering, Aguascalientes campus of our university, has co-led the COST Action project PIMENTOfocused on the research of fermented foods.
This project has resulted in the preparation and acceptance of manuscripts in high-impact journals, including a recent article in Frontiers in Nutritionwhich highlights the benefits and risks of fermented foods. This achievement not only underscores the quality of Dr. Dominguez's research, but also the overall impact of the College of Engineering.
In addition, the researcher has been invited to participate in an intensive training at Akdeniz University in Antalya. Akdeniz University in AntalyaTurkey, reflecting the relevance and recognition of her work.
Ongoing Collaboration and Future Aspirations
Currently, Dr. Domínguez is collaborating with the University of La Sabana to continue this fruitful international cooperation. Together, they plan to apply for an MSCA Staff Exchange in February 2025, which promises to further broaden the scope and depth of our research.
