Mexico City, February 9, 2023.— In a world as chaotic as this, where we are constantly faced with the various challenges of daily life, empathy and support play a fundamental role. As advisors at the Universidad Panamericana, it is important to be aware of the risky situations students face, as these directly impact their personal and academic well-being. For this reason, the Advisory team at Smart Center’s Mexico campus launched the Special Cases training program.
Stronger Together
This initiative will be carried out jointly across the three campuses that make up the Panamericana, with the aim of helping advisors recognize these issues—regardless of their nature (academic, emotional, family-related, or health-related)—so they can provide the best possible response and know how to address such situations.
Tools for Advisors
While an advisor currently does not have the authority to solve all the problems a student faces, by completing this training, they will be able to support and guide students—both on and off campus—by connecting them with experts who can help them succeed. This is done with empathy, ensuring that students feel safe and valued.
Over the past two years , nearly 150 mentors have taken it upon themselves to learn about and receive training in college counseling through the Moodle platform. This represents one-third of all counselors on campuses in Mexico.
Campus Advisory Mexico is committed to continuing its training efforts to educate all stakeholders in university advising and to provide support and guidance to students. In this way, we promote the optimal development of every student who steps foot on our campus.
