Mexico City, December 9, 2025.— The Universidad Panamericana reaffirms its leadership and commitment to sustainable development by ranking as the second-best private university in Mexico in the international UI GreenMetric 2025, one of the most globally recognized rankings in the field of university sustainability.
This year’s edition included 1,547 institutions of higher education from around the world—a 5% increase over the previous year—further reinforcing the ranking’s competitiveness and prestige. In Mexico, 32 universities were evaluated, 11 of which are private, solidifying the Universidad Panamericana among the country’s institutions with the greatest progress and commitment to the environment.
Notable Results at the Global and National Levels
As the second-best private university in Mexico in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, the Universidad Panamericana reaffirms its leadership in sustainability. In this edition, the institution ranked 163rd globally, 23rd in Latin America, and 5th nationally, cementing its position as one of the universities most committed to environmental stewardship, sustainable infrastructure, and the development of initiatives that have a positive impact on society and the planet.
This result was achieved thanks to improvements in five of the six indicators evaluated: infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water management, transportation, and education and research. The institution’s overall score rose from 8.175 in 2024 to 8.325 in 2025, reflecting continuous progress and a solid institutional sustainability strategy.
Among Mexican private universities, the Universidad Panamericana stood out particularly in the area of sustainable transportation, in addition to showing consistent progress in energy management and reducing its environmental impact.
