Mexico City, Mexico, September 13, 2023. Universidad Panamericana has stood out in the international ranking prepared by the British consulting firm specializing in education Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) as one of the best private universities in Mexico and Latin America . In September 2023, QS published the results of the QS Latin America University Rankings 2024. Below, we present the indicators that make up the ranking, as well as the strengths, areas of opportunity and positioning of Panamericana.
Ranking methodology
The QS Latin America University Rankings use eight different indicators to evaluate the participating institutions:
- Academic reputation (30%): evaluated through an annual survey, which is used for the regional rankings and the Academic reputation is measured through the opinion of academics nominated by the participating institutions themselves.
- Employer reputation (20%): similar to academic reputation, employer reputation measures global employers' perception of universities through an annual survey.
- Students per professor (10%): measures the proportion of full-time students among an institution's full-time equivalent faculty.
- Personnel with doctorates (10%): percentage of professors with doctorates who teach as a percentage of the total number of professors in the institution.
- International Research Network (10%): number of collaborations with foreign researchers for the elaboration of scientific papers (measured through Scopus).
- Citations per paper (10%): number of citations received in the last five years of the scientific production in the last five years.
- Papers per professor (5%): number of papers registered in Scopus in the last five years compared to the total number of professors at the institution.
- Web impact (5%): number of links to the university's page located on websites outside the institution. It is based on the impact ranking of Webometrics.
