Mexico City, Mexico, September 10, 2024. Universidad Panamericana has launched its Alumni Alumni Mentoringan initiative that connects 22 outstanding alumni from law, pedagogy, economics and engineering, among others, with current students at the university to provide personalized mentoring.
This program, coordinated by SMART Center and the Alumni Relations area, has as its main objective to promote the professional and personal development of students through the experience and knowledge of graduates.

Helping students develop their profile
During the inauguration event, Ms. María Fernanda Haro, head of SMART Center, highlighted the relevance of this initiative, noting that "the objective of this program is to help our students develop their profile and life plan, guided by mentors with vast experience".
Fernanda Haro also stressed that this effort is part of the institutional strategy to offer a comprehensive education that prepares students not only in academics, but also in life competencies and professional skills.
The event was attended by university authorities such as Ms. Cecilia Canal, vice rector, and Dr. Santiago García, rector of the Mexico campus, who expressed their unconditional support for the project.

Mentoring with UP Alumni
Karla Morales, Director of Alumni, explained that this is the first mentoring program exclusively with alumni, and that she hopes it will become a tradition at the university, thus creating strong networks in the university community and promoting a virtuous circle of learning between generations.
The Alumni Mentoring program has four main objectives: professional support, personal development, connection with the university community and preparation for the future. Alumni selected to participate in the program are those with high academic achievement and strong extracurricular commitment.
Ms. Haro explained that they have worked together with the deans to select students who stand out not only for their grades, but also for their activities and experiences outside the classroom.

Focus on personal growth
One of the program's most prominent features is the focus on personal growth and self-confidence. According to the head of SMART Center, mentors will help students identify their strengths, as well as areas for improvement, and lay out a long-term career plan.
In addition, mentors will be provided with a manual with tools and formats to facilitate the mentoring sessions, which will take place in five meetings throughout the semester.
The program also offers benefits for mentors, who will have the opportunity to practice their leadership skills and receive formal recognition from the university community. They will also be able to access free training programs, which will allow them to strengthen their bond with the university and foster a culture of continuous learning.

With this first edition of the program, Universidad Panamericana reinforces its commitment to academic excellence and the integral formation of its students. Both the authorities and the participants hope that this is only the beginning of a project that, in the words of Morales, "will grow semester by semester, forming generations of students and alumni committed to mutual success".
