Mexico City, July 2, 2025.– The Universidad Panamericana the strategic consulting firm Roland Berger presented the study Sustainable Corporate Pulse 2025: What Mexico’s Leading Companies Report, a study aimed at promoting a responsible corporate culture capable of responding to social demands and the preservation and regeneration of the natural environment.
During the presentation, held at the Santa Fe building of the Universidad Panamericana Mexico City Universidad Panamericana , the Dr. Joaquina Niembro García, a research professor and project coordinator, emphasized: “Sustainability is a fundamental pillar for the future of business in Mexico, which is why it is essential to foster a culture within companies responsible and committed to the environment”.
UP and Roland Berger Join Forces
This project is the result of a joint effort between the Universidad Panamericana Roland Berger, with the aim of promoting research projects that make a significant contribution to the national agenda.
“We are proud to present this first study on sustainability, which marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at addressing issues of great importance to Mexico,”, noted the project leaders.
The collaboration between the two institutions aims to go beyond the academic sphere by promoting research that not only generates knowledge but also provides relevant solutions for the country’s business and social sectors. “This study is the first of many we plan to conduct together, paving the way for future research in areas critical to national development,”, they added.
One of the key achievements of this initiative is the active participation of students in high-impact projects, which enables them to develop a clear focus on achieving concrete results. “We firmly believe that the best professional preparation is achieved by tackling real-world challenges and collaborating with industry leaders,”, the coordinators noted.
Building a sustainable and responsible country
The study aims to provide a snapshot of the current state of sustainability in Mexico, offering a solid foundation for future research. “Our goal is to provide meaningful insight into the role that companies play in building a more sustainable and responsible country,”, explained Dr. Niembro.
The Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, president of the Universidad Panamericana Mexico City Universidad Panamericana , emphasized: “The university has a responsibility to generate knowledge that positively transforms society. This study is an example of how collaboration between academia and the business sector can have a real impact in Mexico”.
For its part, Gilberto Lozano Meade, MBA, Managing Partner at Roland Berger, commented: “Sustainability is one of the greatest challenges of our time. With this study, we aim to lay the groundwork for Mexican companies to lead the shift toward a more responsible and competitive future”.
During the presentation, Dr. Joaquina Niembro, who also serves as the research project’s general coordinator, explained: “The study establishes a common framework for assessing corporate sustainability, based on information reported by Mexico’s 100 largest companies”.
