    Montserrat Salomón Ferrer

    Dr. Montserrat Salomón Ferrer studied her bachelor's and doctorate in philosophy at Universidad Panamericana, Mexico campus. Her doctoral thesis: "Disability and Justice: Reflections on the recognition of people with disabilities from the approach of capabilities and fair equality of opportunity" obtained top honors. She worked in a political and media consultancy for more than 10 years. She also worked for a few years in the publishing industry as Non-Fiction Editor at Nostra Ediciones. In the public sector, she worked as a legal consultant and private secretary at the INEA Delegation in Mexico City. Since 2009 until today she writes a weekly column on international politics in the newspaper La Razón. She has been a professor of various philosophical subjects at the university level since 2003 to date, including: Philosophy of Nature, Cosmology, Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, Philosophical Anthropology and Person and Society. She has also been a guest professor of the PhD in Bioethics at Universidad Panamericana Campus Mexico with topics related to distributive justice in health issues. She has participated as a speaker in several congresses and conferences. She has also conducted research stays abroad. She has been Coordinator of the Department of Humanities and General Coordinator of the Open University for the careers of Philosophy and Pedagogy at Universidad Panamericana, Campus Mexico. At the Panamericana campus Guadalajara she has been Head of the Academy of Anthropology and Ethics and Professional Ethics. She currently serves as Academic Secretary of the Institute of Humanities, Campus Guadalajara.

  • Mónica Patricia García Magdaleno

    Mónica Patricia García Magdaleno

    It operates in the academic and university environment in three ways. In the first place, it promotes in university students an interest in the great humanistic themes, through the philosophical subjects it teaches. Secondly, it wishes to pursue research on anthropological and ethical themes that have points of contact with the cognitive and affective aspects of Thomas Aquinas. Finally, to collaborate in the formation of university students through university counseling, coaching processes and the promotion of extracurricular activities that allow the forging of an integral humanistic profile.

    He studied Industrial Engineering at Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara (2000-2005), specializing in the area of Operations Management. Subsequently, he completed his B.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome (2006-2011). His thesis is entitled "From Passion to Virtue. The rational order of affectivity in Thomas Aquinas". He has also studied Theology at the Baccalaureate level (2005-). She completed the Specialty in Didactic Competencies at UP in 2018. Subsequently, at the same University, she took the Certification for University Advisors (2018-19) and has taken programs of personal coaching tools taught by Vortice, Integrando Excelencia (GPR, Global Program for Human Resilience), and by Elena Lorenzo ("Identity Course" and the "Power of your other hand"), from 2020-2022.

    Currently (2021-) she is in charge of the Head of the Academy of Theology at Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara. She has been a professor for seventeen years. Since her return to Mexico she is a professor of Humanities at the UP campus Guadalajara, teaching Theological Anthropology I, Person and Society and Ethics. At the Centro Internazionale Villa Balestra she has taught Philosophy of Knowledge and Philosophy of Science (2007-2009). At the primary level he has taught Religion (2001-2014) at the Centro Escolar Los Altos.

    He has participated in different seminars of the DISF Working Group (2006-2009) and PUSC Philosophy Congresses (2006-2011).

    She worked in the School Services department at UP during the implementation of People Soft (2004-2005). During his studies in Rome he was part of the team that manages the Library of the Centro Internazionale Villa Balestra in the area of purchasing and capture in UNIX.

    She has leadership experience in training activities aimed at university students in the intellectual, cultural, growth in values and support to needy communities, promoted by the La Barca University Residence and the Alhena University Center.

  • María José Gómez Ruiz

    María José Gómez Ruiz

    She holds a degree in Philosophy from Universidad Panamericana, Campus Mexico. The thesis with which she graduated received the award from the Asociación Filosófica de México for the best undergraduate thesis in philosophy at the national level. She holds a Master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and is a former Cambridge Trust scholar. She holds a master's degree in Politics from Oxford University and is a former CONACyT scholar. She has been a member of the Institute of Humanities at Universidad Panamericana, Campus Guadalajara, for 13 years. She has taught History of Culture, Person and Society, Ethics, Social Philosophy and Political Philosophy, and is a professor and advisor of the Anthropology and Ethics Specialty. She has headed the Academy of Social and Political Philosophy and the Academy of Anthropology and Ethics. In addition, she has been a visiting professor at the Faculty of Philosophy at Universidad Panamericana, Campus Mexico City. Her areas of specialization are Political Philosophy, in particular the theory of democracy, John Locke's thought and feminist philosophy. She also has interests and publications on liberal arts education.

  • María Guadalupe Martínez-Fisher

    María Guadalupe Martínez-Fisher

    She holds a B.A. in Philosophy and a M.A. in Pedagogy from the Universidad Panamericana, where she graduated with honors. She has completed her doctoral studies at UAM Iztapalapa and FernUniversität (Hagen, Germany). Her research project dealt with Kantian philosophy of law. She was a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) scholarship holder and has become the first student of the Humanities postgraduate program at UAM to obtain a double degree in philosophy.

    She has published several articles on practical philosophy both in Mexico and abroad. She has been a professor in different national and international universities teaching subjects such as anthropology, ethics, sociology and social philosophy. Since 2014 she is a member of the Society of Kantian Studies in Spanish Language (SEKLE) and of the Steering Committee of the journal Open Insight (journal recognized by CONACyT). She has been Deputy Director of Research and Projects of the Instituto de Investigaciones Parlamentarias del Congreso de la CDMX, member of its Academic Council and Technical Secretary of its Board of Directors.

  • María del Pilar Sánchez Barajas

    María del Pilar Sánchez Barajas

    María del Pilar Sánchez Barajas (Mexico, 1987). Degree in Philosophy from the Universidad Panamericana (2010), Master and PhD in Philosophy from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (2016 and 2022, both with Honorable Mention). She completed a year of PhD study at the Universidade de Lisboa, from 2018 to 2019. She has participated as a researcher in the PAPIIT Project "Naturalizing Ethics: contributions and problems of the neurocognitive turn for contemporary moral philosophy" (IN402715) (2016 and 2017) and as coordinator of the book "Naturalizing Practical Philosophy. Ethics in Dialogue with Neurosciences". She has published several articles around the topics of the ethical and political implications of Narrative Identity and Emotions and Edith Stein's thought. She has worked as a professor at Universidad Panamericana, in Mexico City, and is currently a professor and researcher in the Department of Humanities at Universidad Panamericana, campus Guadalajara.

    He has participated in international congresses and colloquia such as "Rethinking the Past. Memory/Archive/DocumentArts and Arquitecture", of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon (November 2018), "A culpa e o Tempo", of the Faculty of Law of Coimbra (November 2018), in the 4th Colloquium of History of Ethical and Political Philosophy, in Braga (with the paper entitled "After fair forgiveness", in January 2019), the VII International Congress of the IASPES - "Thinking Education: Edith Stein" (with the paper entitled "Formation at the individual and community level. The specific case of the university"), and at X International Congress of Philosophy of Education - CIFE 2023 "Philosophies for the university" in Barcelona (with the paper entitled "The foreign and the own. A reflection on the university based on Edith Stein's concept of empathy").

    Her main research topics are emotions and intersubjectivity, from the philosophical analysis in the field of Ethics, Politics and Philosophical Anthropology. She is a researcher candidate for the SIN since 2023.

    María del Carmen Guerra Arias

    Maricarmen Guerra Arias has a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a major in Educational Psychology. She studied a Master's Degree in Family Sciences at the Higher Institute of Family Studies with official recognition from the Pontifical Institute of Rome and the Anahuac University of Mexico.

    She has worked in various educational institutions for 30 years as a teacher and director.
    She was a counselor collaborating for five years in the assignment of adoption, guardianship and custody cases in Jalisco by the State Family Council (2003-2008).

    She is currently dedicated to personal and family consulting while coordinating the Humanities Teaching Strengthening project at Universidad Panamericana.

    She collaborated in the implementation of a Parent Training Project through the digital platform: SOFI for Parents - Operational System for Integral Training.

    She collaborated in the design and implementation of the Affective Intervention Model (Family Formation Program for families in Hermosillo, Sonora) (2017-2018).

    She has been a lecturer on various educational topics, family training in educational institutions.

    She has participated in several radio and television programs on educational topics and human and family formation.

D. in Philosophy from Universidad La Salle, Master in Humanities and Doctor in Philosophy from Centro Universitario de la Ciudad de México in scientific collaboration with the Fondation de Recherches et D'Editions de Philosophie Neohellenique de Atenas, Master in Bioethics from Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones de Bioética; He also holds a PhD in Philosophy and Letters from the Universidad Anahuac del Sur and has a Postdoctorate in Philosophy from the Centro Universitario de la Ciudad de México as well as studies in Theology at the Universidad La Salle and the Sapientia Institute.

    He is Associate Vice President for life and has been president of the Mexican Society of Philosophy founded by José Vasconcelos. President of the International Thomas Aquinas Society of Mexico. Corresponding Member of the Pontifical Academy of St. Thomas Aquinas. Academician of Number in the Hispano-American Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters corresponding to the Spanish Royal Academy. Extraordinary Professor of the University F.A.S.T.A., Mar del Plata, Argentina.

    Founder and Director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of Universidad Anáhuac del Sur.     Luz Imelda Acedo Moreno

    Lucy Acedo studied Philosophy at UP Mexico, and received her PhD from the University of Navarra. She also studied a Master in Educational Sciences at the Rome campus of the University of Navarra, and began her studies for a Licenza in Theology at the Pontifical University of Santa Croce in Rome. He received his doctorate in Sacred Theology from the same University.

    He has several publications in Philosophy, Educational Sciences and Theology. He is especially interested in the relationship between Philosophy and Theology, and -within the latter- Sacramental Theology, as well as the educational lines of both sciences, how these supreme sciences can be taught, and how the unity of knowledge is achieved from any discipline.

    Among his main publications are "The immanent divine activity", where he seeks to present where human reason can reach about the intelligence of God, based on the Commentaries of St. Thomas Aquinas to the Aristotelian works. It is part of his doctoral thesis in Philosophy. And "Union with Christ in the sacraments. The contribution of St. Thomas in the Contra Gentiles to sacramental theology", complete thesis edited by the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. And published by Editorial NUN as a book with the same title (2023).

    Lourdes Giannina Orejel Orejel

    Giannina Orejel has a degree in Philosophy from Universidad Panamericana Campus Mexico. She graduated with Honorable Mention. At the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with a major in Anthropology and Ethics, concluding these studies with Summa cum laude. She holds a Master's degree in Basic Education from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla and a Master's degree in Neuropsychology and Education from Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara. She has been a teacher of different subjects at different levels from elementary school to university.
    She has participated as a speaker at various international conferences in the United States and Spain. She is a member of the Interdisciplinary Group of Feminist Studies of Universidad Panamericana, since June 2021. She is currently a full time professor at the Institute of Humanities at Universidad Panamericana campus Guadalajara.

    Yadira Munguía holds a PhD in Hispanic American Literature from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, a master's degree in Mexican Literature from BUAP, a master's degree in History of Mexico from the University of Guadalajara, a specialist in Anthropology and Ethics, a specialist in Didactic Competencies from Universidad Panamericana and a bachelor's degree in Hispanic Literature from the UdeG. She is currently a research professor category B at Universidad Panamericana and a member of the National System of Researchers level I. Professor of Subject category B of the Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Literature at the University of Guadalajara. Member of important international research associations such as UC-Mexicanistas, AITENSO, Institut IIS, and AEGS. She is the author of the critical edition: Enigmas offered to the Sovereign Assembly of the House of Pleasure, by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. She is also the author of several scientific articles in international journals of academic prestige and book chapters in national and international publications. Her research interests are the literature and history of New Spain and the Spanish Golden Age, with special reference to Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz.
