Innovation in hospitality

Cecilia Canal Garrido, Vice Chancellor of Panamericana, said: "Although the essence of hospitality remains, the warmth, the kindness, the importance of the small and the effort to take care of everything that is done focusing on well done tasks, the world is in constant transformation and the ways of living hospitality will allude to the current realities.

Afterwards, Amelia García, Frances Jammal and Daniela Muñoz answered questions posed by Bernardo Flores, director of MediaLab at the School of Communication, related to this innovation at ESDAI.

During his speech, García Casas spoke about the role of ESDAI today: "ESDAI has a lot to contribute to the hospitality industry today (...), teaching the science of hospitality is a way to contribute to the happiness of human beings, I believe that everyone has the right to be happy and that is what we are looking for, to give that happiness".

Solid and practical training

Muñoz then explained why this new plan was implemented: "We wanted to do things differently in order to form very solid profiles of students and future graduates and to integrate the issue of sustainability, which is a very present reality that we had not looked at in depth and that seems relevant to us.

He also detailed the study pillars on which ESDAI bases its training: "the first pillar is the study plan, which provides knowledge and updates and promotes power skills; the other pillar is the internship program, through which students experience their internships and which was also updated with this new plan, so that students will have to take a mandatory semester in which they will cover internships and studies".

According to García Iza, the curriculum will provide powerful competencies that will enable students to interpret situations, make decisions, seek solutions and deal with different scenarios.
