QS World University Rankings
QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings comprising global overall and subject rankings (naming the world's best universities for the study of 53 different disciplines and five composite subject areas), together with our separate regional tables (such as Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe and Central Asia and the Arab Region). QS World University Rankings is the most widely read university ranking in the world.
Methodology
The rankings by subject use 5 indicators to evaluate institutions in 53 subjects (disciplines) of knowledge:
Academic reputation: evaluated through an annual survey, which is used for the regional rankings and the world ranking. Academic reputation is measured through the opinion of academics nominated by the participating institutions themselves .
Employer reputation: similar to academic reputation, employer reputation measures global employers' perception of universities through an annual survey.
Citations per paper: measures the normalized number of citations per paper and per discipline for the last 5 years.
H Index: measures the quality of the scientific production of the institutions through citations in a given period of time. The percentage distribution of each indicator is different for each of the 53 disciplines.
International Research Network: measures the number of international collaborations of the institution in different areas of knowledge.
Results of the Universidad Panamericana 2023
As can be seen in Table 1, in the 2023 edition the Panamericana was ranked in four different disciplines: Philosophy, Business & Management Studies, Hospitality & Leisure Management, Law.
The reason why only these four disciplines were ranked is because in each of them we are ranked among the top 350 in the world.
In the particular case of Philosophy and Hospitality & Leisure Management, first place was obtained at the national level.
In addition, our institution is one of the best private universities in Mexico. It is ranked 541-550 in QS World University Rankings 2023. It is also ranked #84 in the Latin American university ranking.
