Mexico City, January 22, 2026.— The Universidad Panamericana reaffirmed its academic leadership by ranking highly in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2026, the results of which were published on January 21.
This ranking, which complements the global THE World University Rankings, provides a detailed assessment of universities’ performance across 11 fields of knowledge and their respective subfields. The Universidad Panamericana ’s inclusion in this ranking reflects its academic and research strength, as well as its cross-cutting impact across various areas, since recognition in one field directly influences related fields.

Ranking methodology
THE World University Rankings by Subject evaluates institutions based on five main indicators, the weighting of which varies depending on the discipline being analyzed, allowing for a more precise measurement tailored to each field of knowledge:
- Research Quality: Measures the impact, excellence, and influence of scientific output indexed in Scopus.
- Industry: Analyze revenue derived from partnerships with the manufacturing sector and registered patents.
- International Perspective: Considers the proportion of international students and faculty, as well as global collaborations.
- Research environment: encompasses academic reputation, institutional revenue, and scientific productivity.
- Teaching: evaluates faculty reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, academic degrees, and institutional revenue.
Universidad Panamericana results
In the 2026 edition of the ranking, the Universidad Panamericana has been recognized in four of the disciplines evaluated.
Particularly noteworthy is its inclusion in the Arts and Humanities category, in which only five Mexican universities were recognized, reflecting the growth and international reach of its academic output.
In Business & Economics, the institution ranks third nationally among public and private universities. In Engineering and Social Sciences, Panamericana ranked among the institutions with a national presence in the ranking, with its performance in International Outlook standing out in particular; this indicator received the institution’s highest rating across all disciplines and reflects a high level of international academic collaboration.

In all the categories in which it was ranked, the National Autonomous University of Mexico ( Universidad Panamericana ) was ranked as the second-best private university in Mexico, solidifying its prestige within the national higher education system.
