ESDAI students present innovative projects for Avani Hotels

Mexico City, Mexico, July 15, 2025.Students of the Hospitality Management at ESDAI of the Universidad Panamericana of the Universidad Panamericana, presented innovative proposals for the rebranding for the brand Avani Hotels & Resorts as part of an academic project linked to the industry.

The event, held on May 21 and 22, was attended by executives of the hotel chain, and highlighted the university's commitment to practical training and professional practical training and professional linkages.

Learning with real impact

Under the guidance of Professor Pedro Pablo Espinosathe 6th semester students developed positioning strategies for the introduction of Avani in the markets of Cancun and Bogota. Cancun and Bogotaas part of the Marketing course. The project responded to a real challenge posed by the company, which is currently undergoing a transition from the NH brand.

"The objective was for the students to apply analysis, creativity and decision making to solve a real challenge in the hotel sector," explained the professor.explained the professor. Collaboration with industry experts

The event brought together leading representatives from Avani Hotels & Resorts, who evaluated the presentations and provided feedback. 

Among the guests were: Octavio Juan Altamirano Calvillodirector of Avani Cancun; Elizabeth Millán Garduño, marketing manager at NH Hotel Group Mexico & Cuba; and María Alexandra Araujo, marketing director for the Andean region of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas.

The students worked in teams, focusing on strategies for each destination. The solutions presented were the result of a semester of research, framing sessions and follow-up with Avani management.
