Mexico City, July 22, 2024.- On May 21, the ESDAI School of Hospitality of the Universidad Panamericana held the event Shark Daya space dedicated to the eighth semester students of the Entrepreneurship course, who had the opportunity to present their business plans developed during the semester .
The top four projects were selected to pitch to a panel of judges, the sharks, who provided valuable feedback.
Fostering the entrepreneurial spirit
The objective of Shark Day is to provide students of the Bachelor's Degree in Administration and Hospitality, a platform to present and defend their business ideas. The purpose of the event is to foster the entrepreneurial spirit and to offer students the possibility of receiving a six-month scholarship for the incubation process of their projects at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of our house of studies.
The event was attended by distinguished jurors such as Luciana Gamboa, entrepreneur, alumni of Administration and Hospitality at Panamericana, founder and director of La guía de los pequeños negocios; Lourdes Alicia Hernández Sousa, businesswoman and Assistant Director at Grupo Aserta, alumni of Administration and Hospitality; and María Emilia de Lourdes Hernández Betancourt, alumni of Finance at Panamericana and general director of Ediciones ECA, .A DE C.V.
Claudia Galindo, head of the Management Academy; Dr. Sofía Roux Tercero, academic coordinator; and Rodolfo Reyeros Calderón, professor of entrepreneurship.
Winning Projects
The winning projects of this edition were:
1- Nutri Bugs - 1st place
Food supplement made from insects that provides a high protein, vitamins and minerals.
- Students: Constanza Castillo, Andrea Garduño, María González, Natalia Medrano, Paulina Tiburcio.
2- Buen Tiempo - 2nd place
Service to create the perfect picnic, provides baskets with food and utensils needed from a Combi.
- Student: Pamela Monroy.
3- Thrift Flip - 3rd place.
Thrift store with custom sewing and upcycling service, also offers personalized guidance.
- Students: Marian Degetau, Nixioely Contreras, Mariana Gutiérrez, María José Martínez.
4- Lift - fitness studio - 4th place.
Sports center focused on the integral wellness of women.
- Students: Valeria Peláez Navarro, Lizbeth Estela Flores Sosa, María Fernanda Gómez Gómez.
"Shark Day is not only a platform for our students to present their innovative ideas, but also an opportunity for them to receive direct feedback from experts in the field to strengthen their projects and prepare them for the real world" mentioned Dr. Sofia Roux Tercero.
