Mexico City, November 13, 2025.— In a ceremony that highlighted the spirit of unity and service, Dr. Jorge Alberto Castro Ramírez, founder of Clínica MAS Medicina y Asistencia Social and former faculty member of the School of Medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Universidad Panamericana, was awarded the 2025 “Ignacio Comonfort Ríos” Medal of Civic Merit.

About the “Ignacio Comonfort Ríos” Medal of Civic Merit
The award, established by the municipality of Tlapa de Comonfort under the leadership of Gilberto Solano Arreaga, recognizes citizens who have distinguished themselves through exemplary actions that benefit the Mexican community socially and civically.

During the ceremony, held on October 22, Dr. Castro Ramírez’s more than three-decade-long tenure as head of Clínica +MAS was highlighted; the clinic has provided medical care and social assistance to vulnerable families in the Montaña region of Guerrero.
Mayor Gilberto Solano emphasized: “Dr. Jorge Alberto Castro Ramírez is a model of dedication, service, and love for our people. His charitable work has touched thousands of lives and reflects the noble and generous spirit of La Montaña”.

+MAS Clinic: Three Decades of Health and Hope
The Clinic for Medicine and Social Assistance (Clínica +MAS) was founded in 1993 as a nongovernmental organization with the aim of providing medical services, health campaigns, and social development programs in highly marginalized communities.
Over the years, the institution has evolved into a model of comprehensive and compassionate care, focused on the physical, emotional, and social well-being of those most in need.

Currently, the Universidad Panamericana actively Universidad Panamericana with the foundation through the participation of its medical interns on social service rotations (MPSS), who take part in charitable projects focused on eye care and community health.
This partnership reaffirms the shared commitment of Clínica +MAS and the Universidad Panamericana bring quality medical care to the most underserved areas of the country and to promote medical education grounded in ethical, social, and human values.
