Innovation under structural transformation

In the keynote lecture Innovation under Structural Transformation in Society, Value, Technology and BusinessDr. Kinji Mori discussed current events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and economic turbulence and how these "have abruptly and unpredictably transformed certain structures of society, value, technology and business".

He stressed that in this era of structural change, "innovation in technology and business requires an approach focused on understanding key concepts. This approach not only helps to identify problems in the new environment, but also enables coherent solutions to be directed through the chain of technologies and markets".

Speaking on Decentralized Autonomous Systems (ADS), he emphasized that "in these current situations of change and transformation, it is effective to use the ADS concept to create new systems and technologies that allow the system to change, modify, repair and partially expand while in operation" .

Critical Systems Trends

Dr. Perez-Leguizamo presented a paper entitled Trends in Critical Systems and Business Opportunity in Innovation.. He pointed out that in a globalized, unpredictable and constantly changing market, technological evolution is not an option, but a necessity .

He explained that, in recent years, society has undergone several changes in its forms and methods of consumption, causing consumer needs to be very diverse and changing.

In addition, the current environment, market trends and unexpected events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, have forced us to think of new business models with varied requirements, such as continuous service provision and utilization, fast service response, unpredictable situations and security.

Therefore, he explained, it is necessary to propose new system architectures and technologies that can meet these requirements in dynamic and constantly changing environments.

In this conference, the academic discussed the concept and technology behind the so-called Decentralized Autonomous Services Architecture (ADSOA), taking as an analogy the survival mechanism and how through its genetic code each cell of a living being presents a degree of specialization in its functions.

He also presented some real-world applications of ADSOA in business-critical systems in the banking area and explored future trends in research and development.

Decentralized autonomous systems

Decentralized autonomous systems, or ADS for short, are systems that execute a set of instructions automatically in response to changing inputs to solve complex problems, generating intelligent, autonomous and adaptive solutions.

ADSs are based on biological systems, which are made up of independent living subsystems, thus these systems are composed of many components, which must function coherently and safely performing individual tasks to achieve overall objectives.

The importance of the technological development of decentralized autonomous systems lies in having solutions to solve complex problems through systems that continue to operate in the event of component failures. In addition, these systems allow maintenance and repair tasks to be performed while they remain operational.
