INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: PANAMERICANA PRINCIPAL FONT (WEB AND PRINT)
1. Download and extract the file
- You will receive a compressed file in .zip format containing the Panamericana font.
Example: Panamericana_Fonts.zip - Save the file to your computer (for example, in the Downloads folder).
- Right-click the .zip file and select âExtract Allâ (Windows) or âOpen With > Compression Utilityâ (macOS).
- A folder containing the .otf files will be created (for example: Panamericana-Regular.otf, Panamericana-Bold.otf, etc.).
2. Installation on Windows
- Open the extracted folder.
- Double-click the font's .otf file.
- A preview window will open with an "Install" button. Click it.
- Repeat the process for each weight/style (Regular, Bold, Italic, etc.) included in the folder.
đĄ Alternative:
- Select all the .otf files, right-click, and choose âInstall for all usersâ to make the font available system-wide.
3. Installation on macOS
- Open the extracted folder.
- Double-click each .otf file.
- The Font Book app will open.
- Click the âInstall Fontâ button.
- Repeat this for each font variant.
đĄ Tip: You can create a collection in Font Book called " Panamericana " to group all the styles together and keep your font library organized.
4. Installation Verification
- In Windows: Open Word, PowerPoint, or Illustrator, type some text, and look for Panamericana in the font list.
- On macOS: Open Pages, Keynote, or InDesign and check that the font appears as Panamericana.
5. Use in digital environments
- Once installed, the font will be available in all applications that use system fonts (Word, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
- For web environments, it is not recommended to use the .otf file directly. Instead, it should be converted to web formats (.woff, .woff2) or managed through an authorized service. This avoids compatibility and licensing issues.
6. Institutional Recommendations
- Keep the original .zip file in a secure repository (Google Drive, institutional Dropbox, etc.) for future installations.
- Do not rename .otf files, as this may prevent programs from recognizing them properly.
- Always install all font styles (Regular, Bold, Italic, etc.) to ensure typographic consistency in presentations, publications, and official documents.
SERAVEK SECONDARY TYPOGRAPHY INSTALLATION
What is Adobe Fonts, and how does it work with Seravek?
- Seravek is part of the Adobe Fonts library. (Adobe Fonts). Please note that this is a paid font and may only be used if you have an active Adobe Fonts account.
- When you activate it from Adobe Fonts, the font becomes available in your creative applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Word, etc.) on your devices that use the same Adobe Creative Cloud account.
- You are not downloading a .ttf or .otf file directly; instead, the font is synced through the Adobe service.
- It is important that your Adobe (Creative Cloud) license is active and that your computer is connected to the internet so that the service can validate and sync the fonts.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure to:
- Have an active Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (or access to Adobe Fonts).
- Make sure you have the Creative Cloud desktop app installed and are signed in with your account.
- Have an internet connection (at least when synchronization begins).
- Have installation permissions on the computer (if it is a company computer, there may be restrictions).
Steps to activate Seravek on your computer (Windows / macOS)
Here is the general process:
Step 1: Sign in to Adobe Fonts
- Go to the Adobe Fonts website and sign in with your Adobe account.
- Search for the âSeravekâ font. It will appear on the site, along with its variants. (Adobe Fonts)
- Click âActivate Fontâ (or the equivalent) to enable it for desktop use. This makes it available to your desktop applications.
Note: Depending on the interface, you may need to âAdd the familyâ before activating it. On the Seravek page, youâll see âAdd Family / Removeâ. (Adobe Fonts)
Step 2: Check synchronization in Creative Cloud
- In the Creative Cloud desktop app, go to the Fonts section.
- Make sure Seravek is listed as âactiveâ or âsynced.â
- If it doesn't appear right away, it may take a few minutes. If there's a "Sync" button, click it.
Step 3: Use the font in your applications
Once activated and synced:
- Open your design software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Word, etc.).
- In the program's font list, look for âSeravekâ (or one of its variants, such as âSeravek Regular,â âSeravek Bold,â etc.).
- Select it and use it just like any other font.
If it doesn't appear right away, restart the app or, in some cases, your computer.
Considerations for different operating systems
On macOS
- You don't need to install files manually. Activation through Adobe Fonts is sufficient as long as the Creative Cloud application is running.
- If the font doesn't appear, you can check in Font Book to see if the Adobe font is enabled.
- If there are conflicts with other local versions of Seravek, it may be helpful to disable or remove local versions to avoid duplicates.
In Windows
- When enabled through Adobe Fonts, the font is installed virtually on the system via the app.
- If you were using a local version (.ttf/.otf file), you could install it by right-clicking â âInstallâ or âInstall for all users.â But with this Adobe model, thatâs not necessary (and it can cause conflicts if older local versions are present).
- Make sure there are no permission restrictions (especially on company computers) that prevent the virtual installation of fonts.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
| Problem | Possible cause | Suggested solution |
| Seravek does not appear in the apps | The font did not sync, or Creative Cloud is not active | In the Creative Cloud app, check "Fonts," log in again, and force a sync |
| Conflict with the local version of Seravek | There may be a .ttf/.otf file already installed | Uninstall or disable the local version to avoid conflicts |
| The app does not display the font | Font cache or needs to be restarted | Restart the app or the computer |
| Corporate restrictions / permissions | IT policy blocks font installations | Contact the IT team to enable synchronization of Adobe fonts |
For the Seravek secondary font, this license code must be sent to all university-affiliated sites.

OPTIONAL INSTALLATION OF THE BASKERVILLE PRIMARY FONT (FOR WEB ENVIRONMENTS ONLY)
Key context: web fonts via Adobe Fonts
- Adobe web fonts cannot be self-hosted (you cannot download the .woff/.ttf files and serve them from your own server). They must be embedded using the embed code provided by Adobe. (Adobe Help Center)
- The Web Project generates an identifier (âkit IDâ) and CSS hosted on Adobe/Typekit servers. (Adobe Help Center)
- If the Adobe Fonts service is disabled (for example, if your subscription expires), the fonts will stop working and the site will use the fallback fonts in your CSS stack. (Adobe Help Center)
Step-by-step instructions
Here are the recommended steps:
Step 1: Select the font in Adobe Fonts
- Sign in to the Adobe Fonts website using your Adobe Creative Cloud account.
- Look for the Baskerville URW font family (or the Baskerville URW variant if it is enabled for the web).
- En la pĂĄgina de la fuente, haz clic en el botĂłn â</> Add to Web Projectâ (o âAdd to Web Project / Add Familyâ) para incluirla en un proyecto web. (Adobe Help Center)
- In the web project window, select the variants (weights, styles: regular, italic, bold, etc.) that you will use.
- Save the web project: Adobe will assign a âkit IDâ and display the embed code (the CSS URL you need to use).
Step 2: Insert the embed code into the website
- <head>
- <!– Otras meta, CSS, etc. –>
- <link rel=”stylesheet” href=”https://use.typekit.net/XXXXXXX.css”>
- </head>
(âXXXXXXXâ represents the kit ID generated by Adobe).- Option 2: @import in your CSS (at the beginning of your CSS file):
- @import url("https://use.typekit.net/XXXXXXX.css");
It must be placed at the beginning of the file, before any other CSS rules (or at least before any other imports). (Adobe Help Center)
Note: If you use @import, some pages may take longer to render the text, depending on the browser.
Step 3: Apply the typography in your CSS
- On the project page on Adobe Fonts, you'll find the suggested CSS definition: font family name (e.g., font-family: âbaskerville-urwâ, serif;), weights, and styles.
- Copy these CSS rules to use them in your style sheets.
- For example, you might have something like:
- body {
- Â Â font-family: âbaskerville-urwâ, serif;
- Â Â font-weight: 400;
- }
- h1, h2, h3 {
- Â Â font-family: âbaskerville-urwâ, serif;
- Â Â font-weight: 700;
- }
- um, i {
- Â Â font-style: italic;
- }
Make sure your fallback font list includes generic fonts of the same style (for example, serif) in case the font fails to load.
Step 4: Verify and test
- Load your site in a browser and check that the text appears in Baskerville Urw.
- In Developer Tools (DevTools), you can check the "Fonts" panel to see if the browser has loaded the font from use.typekit.net.
- Test on different browsers and devices to ensure compatibility.
Considerations and Recommendations
- Don't add multiple redundant embed codes: using more than one Web Project on the same page can create unnecessary additional HTTP requests. (Adobe Help Center)
- CORS rules, caching, and Content Security Policies (CSP) can affect the loading of external resources; make sure your server supports loading external CSS files (from use.typekit.net).
- Do not modify the .css files hosted by Adobe, or attempt to download or host them yourself: doing so would violate the Adobe Fonts license. (Adobe Help Center)
- If you stop paying for your subscription or cancel your Adobe Fonts access at some point in the future, the fonts will no longer be available on the site (they will become invisible), and your CSS will revert to the fallback font.
- For optimal performance, select only the font weights/styles you will actually use on the site (do not include unnecessary weights). This reduces the font load size.

IMPORTANT: Consider other secondary fonts for web environments such as Nunito Sans, if you do not have the appropriate licenses, as this may result in penalties for improper use of the fonts.
