Zapopan, Jalisco; May 9, 2023.- As a Socially Responsible University, Panamericana through the Department of Social Commitment, promotes the Strategic Social Project COLABORE which seeks to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in our society.

COLLABORATE

It has been 20 years since the Pan American Center COLABORE has had an impact on the Culture of Disability. Since its inception, this project focused on the labor inclusion of people with disabilities. From 2003 to 2010, 2,794 people were interviewed, of which 835 were hired in 174 companies in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.

From 1998 to 2009, more than 150 students participated in the program through social service, volunteers and scholarship recipients, who received awareness workshops in this area. Similarly, in 2007, COLABORE was replicated at the Panamericana campus in Mexico.

From 2009 until this year, COLABORE has worked with different institutions in order to strengthen and disseminate knowledge of different types of disabilities through workshops, talks and events.

Culture of Inclusion

To date, more than 300 Panamericana students have participated in this project, and more than 10 professors have advised research projects.

Our objective is to sensitize people to achieve a Culture of Inclusion of People with Disabilities in the educational, social and labor spheres - Ekatherine Acosta Demerutis, Head of Social Commitment Guadalajara.

Throughout the years, the need to continue creating these spaces where the university community can coexist and learn more about these issues and thus promote a culture of inclusion has become evident.

The Panamericana Guadalajara campus recognizes and promotes these projects that foster inclusion within our community.
