UP and Embassy of France sign academic collaboration agreement

Mexico City, April 8, 2025. In the framework of the International DayDay, organized by the International Affairsand with France as host country, the Universidad Panamericana and the Embassy of France in Mexico formalized a strategic collaboration agreement. This agreement aims to establish the basis for promoting human capital formation, scientific research and cultural exchange between both institutions.

The event, held at the facilities of our university, was attended by the following speakers H.E. Delphine BorioneAmbassador of France to Mexico, as well as university authorities, such as Dr. Santiago García Álvarezrector of the Mexico City campus; Mtra. Liza Monroy Ortizdirector of the Language Center (CLUP); MBA. MBA. Antonio Castro D'FranchisDirector of University Life; Dr. Emmanuel Eveno Dr. Emmanuel EvenoAttaché for Scientific and University Cooperation; French Embassy in Mexico.

"It seems to us that this plan for future collaboration is going to pay many very positive dividends for Universidad Panamericana. I believe that, if we continue to find mechanisms for alliances and new sources of funding for scholarships, this will redound to the good of both institutions "said the Rector.

Origin of cooperation

This link arose thanks to the initiative of Jaime Novales, an engineering student at Panamericana, who facilitated the first contact with the French Embassy. Subsequently, a visit was organized for 30 students to get to know the workings of the diplomatic headquarters. 

This relationship was strengthened when France was chosen as the host country for the International International Day Day, which led to the proposal to formalize the collaboration through an agreement.

Objectives and key points of the agreement

The agreement signed between our university and the French Embassy establishes five main areas of cooperation:

  1. Academic cooperation: promotion of joint projects with French institutions.
  2. Student and faculty mobility: to facilitate the exchange of students, researchers and professors.
  3. Dual degreesDual degrees: development of programs that allow students to obtain academic degrees in both countries.
  4. ScholarshipsScholarships: financial support for Universidad Panamericana students to continue their education in France.
  5. Promotion of Frenchstrengthening the teaching of this language, which is currently the third most studied language in the Pan-American region, after Spanish and English.

 

In addition, the organization of cultural and academic events is planned, such as La Noche de las Ideasan initiative of the French Embassy aimed at fostering international dialogue. international dialogue.

  • Possibility of obtaining scholarships for postgraduate studies in France.

A binational Technical Commission will follow up on the objectives of the agreement, ensuring its proper implementation. Currently, 516 alumni of Universidad Panamericana reside or study in France, reflecting the impact of this partnership for global professional development.

With this agreement, Universidad Panamericana and the French Embassy reaffirm their commitment to academic excellence and internationalization, laying the foundations for a relationship that promises fruitful results in the educational, scientific and cultural fields.
