The Global Compact is the single global standard-setting authority and the reference point for action and leadership within a growing global corporate sustainability movement.

Universidad Panamericana is proud to be part of the Global Compact, an initiative of the United Nations whose mission is to create a global movement of sustainable businesses and stakeholders to build a better world.

How to achieve the objective of the Global Compact?

To achieve its goal, the Compact will drive impact through two main pathways: responsible business and enabling ecosystems; helping companies or organizations to do business responsibly by aligning their strategies and operations with the ten principles on human rights, labor standards, environment and anti-corruption.

In this way, Panamericana will exercise strategic actions to promote broader social objectives, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with emphasis on collaboration and innovation, from an academic and institutional approach.

Also, the Compact will help businesses of all sizes as they align their practices for a sustainable and inclusive future while growing stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, create customized plans for each institution so that they can contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement.

Its strategy for 2021-2023 includes five key changes to accelerate the actions of companies and broaden the impact of their actions: holding companies accountable, balanced growth of local and regional networks, measuring impact in priority areas, leveraging the collective action of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and engaging more actively with the United Nations and its partners.

For Universidad Panamericana it is of utmost importance to be part of the Global Compact, as this will enhance institutional efforts focused on the aforementioned areas, in order to have an impact on the management and minimization of local and global risks.
