Mexico City, June 30, 2022.- Universidad Panamericana, through the International Affairs department, received exchange students from Northwestern University, Chicago, United States, to join its Public Health in Mexico study program.

Northwestern University is one of the best universities in the world, ranked 32nd in the QS Ranking, which has maintained an agreement with our Panamericana since 2001, to send its students to a summer course specialized in medicine.

The program includes classes in medicine, Mexican culture, Spanish, dance and visits to UNAM. Its objective is to learn about the public health system in Mexico, the existing programs to treat and reduce the most frequent diseases in the country, as well as to improve the students' level of Spanish and introduce them to the history and culture of Mexico.

Several of the students who arrived this semester say that they decided to join the program offered by Panamericana because of the opportunities it offers.

Such is the case of NaKaya Short, a Psychology and Global Health student: "I wanted to learn about new cultures and coming to Mexico seemed pretty interesting. I thought this program was amazing because I am aiming for health care and I wanted a program that focused on that."

Hannah Zeinstra, also a Psychology and Global Health student, was interested in learning about Mexico because part of her family comes from this country, but she also commented that the program will help her learn more about the differences that exist in public health in the United States and other countries, especially in Mexico.

Martha Wondowassen, on the other hand, commented that what motivated her to join the program was her interest in understanding how different public health programs work around the world and her interest in learning Spanish: "Ihad never taken a Spanish class before but I always wanted to, because I am from Chicago and there is a large Hispanic population there and I think it will help me become a better doctor in the future.

Currently, Universidad Panamericana , through International Affairs, offers assistance to foreign students who come to our university on exchange and manages foreign exchanges for Panamericana students who wish to carry out an academic stay outside of Mexico, in one of the universities with which it has an agreement.
