Mexico City, December 13, 2024.— The Universidad Panamericana reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by ranking as the second-best private university in Mexico in the rankings of GreenMetric and QS Sustainability.
These awards highlight the company's leadership and commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainable infrastructure, and the development of initiatives that have a positive impact on society and the planet.
Significant progress in GreenMetric 2024
In the 2024 edition of the GreenMetric , which evaluated 1,477 universities worldwide—a 23% increase in participation compared to the previous year— the Universidad Panamericana to climb 46 spots, reaching the 168 globally. This result places the Panamericana as the sixth-best university in Mexico and the second-best private institution, second only to ITESO.
Among the Pan American Games' notable achievements this ranking is the improvement in the scores for five of the six indicators evaluated: infrastructure and investment, energy and climate change, waste management, water treatment, transportation, and education and research.
In particular, the energy and climate change indicator ranked the Universidad Panamericana the world’s top 90, demonstrating its leadership in this critical area.
Across Latin America, our university ranked as the 26th best university among public and private institutions, and as the 11th best among private universities in the region. This recognition reflects the impact of the sustainable initiatives implemented by the university across its various campuses.
Recognition in the QS Sustainability Rankings
The Panamericana’s commitment to sustainability was also recognized by the QS Sustainability Rankings, where it was once again ranked as the second-best private university in Mexico.
