Through its musical ensemble “De La Paz Latin Music” and his work as an educator, Humberto has made a name for himself on the Canadian cultural scene, blending the rhythms and energy of Latin music with an educational vision that has a profound impact on his community.

Her story is an example of how talent, perseverance, and pride in her Latin American heritage can pave the way and conquer international stages.

A journey inspired by music and Latin identity

Ever since his days at the Cedros School through his time at Universidad Panamericana, music has always been a fundamental part of Beto’s life. He majored in trumpet and, after graduating, decided to pursue a master’s degree in Canada.

There, his passion for music and his Latin roots led him to found “De La Paz Latin Music,” an ensemble that not only aims to put on high-quality performances, but also represent and raise awareness of Latin culture in Canada.

“Latin music is energetic and passionate; it’s not just for listening, but for feeling and moving to,”he says of his band’s unique style. With this vision, his group has won over Canadian audiences and established itself as a key player in the Latin music scene in Canada.

The Universidad Panamericana: A Solid Foundation for Success

Beto says that his education at the EBA at the Panamericana gave him a well-rounded education that allowed him to grow both as a musician and in the music business. “At Panamericana, I learned how to record a single and understand music theory at a professional level,”, he notes.

He also emphasizes that he particularly values the university’s program’s approach to musical performance and its vision for training in various areas, which has been key to her career in Canada.

The responsibility of representing the Latino community

For Beto, being one of the most influential Latinos in Canada is both an honor and a responsibility. His project isn't just about making good music; rather, aims to be an authentic representation of Latin American culture in a multicultural country

“My job isn’t just to make music, but to represent the Latino community and share our culture and traditions,, he says. His upcoming album, “LatinoCanadian,” is a clear example of this fusion of cultures and serves as a tribute to Latino identity in Canada.

A message for young musicians

To young musicians who dream of pursuing a career abroad, Humberto has an encouraging message: “Don’t let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do.”

Drawing on his experience as a Mexican living abroad, he acknowledges that they will face challenges, but reminds them of the importance of believe in themselves and their identity. “Wherever you are, be proud of who you are and of carrying with you what you’ve learned at the Universidad Panamericana,”, he concludes.

Today, Humberto de la Paz is a role model of talent and perseverance on the Canadian music scene. With every performance and educational project, he demonstrates how music can serve as a cultural bridge and a way to create opportunities for the Latinx community abroad.

His career is a testament to the positive impact that a solid education and a commitment to cultural identity can have on the global stage.
