ZAPOPAN, Jalisco;
The best moment for me at this exhibition was seeing students interacting with some of my pieces, whether they were reading about them, taking photos, or simply standing there looking at them. That was my goal: to create those special moments you can have with a work of art," says Simón Quintero, author of the exhibition, "Mi México" (My Mexico).
Thanks to the efforts of the Department of Art and Culture, the exhibition "Mi México" by artist Simón Quintero was inaugurated throughout the central building of the Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara Campus.

About the exhibition "My Mexico"
More than 30 guests attended the private event, including family and friends of the artist, as well as the director of the Department of Art and Culture, Dr. Ignacio Acosta, who, together with the artist, gave the opening speech and cut the ribbon to mark the start of the exhibition.
The collection consists of 16 oil paintings, in which Quintero captured his vision of Mexico and its cultural and natural elements, such as agave, merging them with famous and renowned works and places in the art world.

"It all started when I was studying abroad and no one knew what agave was, which inspired me to want to show it off. I started taking photos in Tequila, Jalisco, and then I began painting what became the best collection I've ever done," said Simón Quintero.
The artist donated one of the works in his collection, entitled "La danza de Matisse en Jalisco" (Matisse's Dance in Jalisco), to Panamericana University in order to convey to the entire university community the message that Mexico is present in art history and that Mexico has much to be proud of and to show.

The exhibition will be on display in the central building until December 2, as well as virtually on the website https://www.arteyculturaupgdl.com.
