The chemistry of teaching

The exhibition, located on the first floor of the Panamericana's central building, seeks to portray the legacy and achievements of Arturo Álvarez Ramírez through personal objects, the recreation of laboratories and classrooms of his time and a collection of paintings, photographs and documents that demonstrate his simplicity, professionalism and love for life.

It gives us great pleasure to inaugurate this event today, because it is really to show the life of someone who gave testimony of how it is possible to reach the altars, even by doing the ordinary in an extraordinary way. - Dr. José Antonio Esquivias, Rector of the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara.

During the inauguration, the Auxiliary Vicar of Opus Dei, Bishop Mariano Fazio, was present and said in his speech, " I did not have the grace of knowing him personally, but 12 years ago I received a biography of "Inge" and I was moved by it. I was moved not because he did extraordinary things, but because in a very normal life as a university professor, in his family, in the environment in which he moved, he knew how to leave the grip of the Christian spirit.

In 1963, Arturo became acquainted with Opus Dei and was officially aggregated in 1974. He had the good fortune to meet Josémaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei, in Rome. He also had the opportunity to meet Blessed Alvaro de Portillo who taught him that he could bring God through his work.

The exhibition is very beautiful and I really celebrate the fact that Universidad Panamericana is promoting this effort by Opus Dei, which goes beyond that, it is a matter of promoting the professor so that he can be beatified," commented Raúl Solís Gadea, Vice Rector of the University of Guadalajara.

The exhibition will be open until January 31.
