The Department of Art and Culture of the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, presents in its facilities the exhibition: Paseo Perrón, by the artist Sofía Crimen.

ZAPOPAN, Jalisco; November 15, 2022.- Authorities from the Zapopan City Hall and the Universidad Panamericana, as well as the artist of the sculptures, Sofia Crimen, gathered in front of the Central Building to inaugurate the exhibition in the esplanade of the University. The author has been exhibiting her work for a few weeks now, formally inaugurated as "Paseo Perron", presenting 29 life-size dog sculptures in different positions with a very realistic and natural look. Crimen has already presented her work in various venues of the AMG during the last few years and now it will be hosted at the Panamericana's facilities until the last week of January 2023.

Culture as an axis of social transformation

Before the ribbon cutting, the opening of the exhibition was formalized with the words of Christopher de Alba, Director of Culture of the Zapopan City Council, who highlighted the origin of the exhibition from the confinement derived from the sanitary contingency of the year 2020, being this a way to generate awareness towards the care of pets and their relationship with people.

MVZ Yamilet Lofte delivered a message highlighting the culture of life and the responsibility we have to generate a healthy relationship with nature, with a special emphasis on pets, which in many cases become an invaluable support within families. Dr. Rocio Ruiz, Director of Vida Universitaria, also emphasized that the care of nature and life are a fundamental part of human values and above all, highlighting the relationship that exists with pets and the benefit it leaves in people.

Maestro Sergio Matos, director of the May Cultural Festival and cultural promoter, pointed out that this is an exhibition that has been seen by more than 100,000 people in its various exhibitions and that he trusts it is the beginning of an important relationship with Universidad Panamericana for various joint activities.

Finally, Ms. María Gómez Rueda, General Coordinator of Community Building, spoke on behalf of Mr. Juan José Frangie, Municipal President of Zapopan, thanking the Universidad Panamericana for opening spaces that allow people to get closer to culture, given that these activities favor the entire community; she made an invitation for these collaborations to continue, given that the underlying message of an exhibition like "Paseo Perrón" speaks volumes to generate awareness, respect and responsibility, thus being something very positive for the community.
