Zapopan, Jalisco; May 9, 2023.— As a socially responsible university, the Panamericana, through its Department of Social Engagement, promotes the COLABORE Strategic Social Project, which aims to advance the inclusion of people with disabilities in our society.
COLLABORATE
For 20 years, the Pan-American COLABORE Center has been working to advance disability awareness. From its inception, the project has focused on promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce. Between 2003 and 2010, 2,794 people were interviewed, of whom 835 were hired by 174 companies in the Guadalajara metropolitan area.
From 1998 to 2009, more than 150 students participated in the program through community service, volunteer work, and internships, and they attended awareness-raising workshops on this topic. Similarly, in 2007, the COLABORE program was replicated at the Panamericana campus in Mexico City.
Since 2009, COLABORE has been working with various organizations to raise awareness and promote understanding of different types of disabilities through workshops, talks, and events.
Culture of Inclusion
To date, more than 300 students from Panamericana University have participated in this project, and more than 10 professors have served as advisors for research projects.

Over the years, it has become clear that we need to continue creating spaces where the university community can come together and learn more about these issues, thereby fostering a culture of inclusion.
The Panamericana Guadalajara campus recognizes and promotes these projects that foster inclusion within our community.
