Strengthening international ties
At Chiba University, the delegation was welcomed by the president, Dr. Koutaro Yokote; the executive vice president for Education and International Relations, Dr. Hiroaki Ozawa; and the dean of the Faculty of Data Science and Informatics, Dr. Shigeo Shioda.

The meeting included discussions aimed at increasing student exchanges and establishing joint projects with the School of Architecture, as well as sharing experiences regarding internationalization and innovative educational models.

Promoting dual degree programs and international mobility
During his visit, Mr. de los Reyes spoke with Japanese students studying Spanish, encouraging them to consider Mexico as a destination to continue their education. “I hope that many Teikyo students will have the opportunity to experience the joy of learning in Mexico,”, he said.

At the Utsunomiya campus, the dual-degree program in engineering was reaffirmed; it was agreed to explore joint projects in artificial intelligence; and it was decided that the Universidad Panamericana welcome Japanese students from Teikyo’s Bachelor’s program in Spanish to spend a semester of linguistic and cultural immersion in Mexico.

Vice President Dr. Ramiro Velázquez highlighted the importance of this relationship, which has now spanned a decade of collaboration: “It has been ten years since the Universidad Panamericana Teikyo University began their collaboration; it is very gratifying to see how this partnership has continued to grow and strengthen,”, he noted.
A renewed commitment to global education
The tour concluded at the Shibaura Institute of Technology, where the two institutions discussed issues related to technological innovation, sustainable development, and industry engagement, thereby strengthening bilateral cooperation on applied research projects.
“Japan is a global leader in education, research, and innovation. Strengthening our ties with Japanese universities not only opens up new academic opportunities but also enriches our students’ personal and cultural development,”said Rector Antonio de los Reyes.
Global education with a Pan-American focus
