Mexico City, December 4, 2023.—With the aim of pooling efforts and resources to promote more effective joint participation, the Universidad Panamericana and Roland Berger Global Consulting signed a collaboration agreement.

Roland Berger is a global strategic management consulting firm headquartered in Munich, Germany. Founded in 1967, it operates in 36 countries. Its services focus on comprehensive strategies to improve the performance of companies and organizations across various industries, including energy, chemicals, automotive, technology, finance, communications, healthcare, transportation, and consumer goods.

Through this agreement, both institutions will be able to jointly carry out programs, training sessions, certificate courses, graduate programs, projects, academic and scientific research, development, innovation, technology production and promotion, as well as educational, cultural, artistic, and scientific activities, to foster an entrepreneurial, legal, academic, and educational culture in our country.

In addition, this partnership will enable the consulting firm to recruit students from various programs at Panamericana, including Industrial Engineering and Innovation Management, Business & Management, Innovation and Design Engineering, Hospitality Management, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, and International Business.

First Mexican university to partner with Roland Berger

The formal ceremony, held at our university, was attended by representatives from Roland Berger México S.A. Gilberto Lozano Meade, Senior Partner and CEO for Mexico and a Panamericana alumnus; and Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, rector of the Panamericana Mexico campus; as well as legal representatives Patricia Santa Anna Echandi and Rodrigo Espinosa de los Monteros Arámbula, with the assistance of Marco Antonio Galindo Corona.

Also in attendance on behalf of our university were Salvador Beltrán del Río, Director of Institutional Development , and Marco Antonio Galindo Corona, Deputy Director of the Rector’s Office, as well as directors and students from the university’s schools and colleges.

The Universidad Panamericana the first Mexican university to enter into this type of partnership with Roland Berger, which sought to collaborate with the university and IPADE given the prestige of both educational institutions.

As a consultant, Roland Berguer is conducting research projects related to the Pan-American Highway, including nearshoring, sustainability, and human capital development, which will be published upon completion. In these projects, our university and IPADE will collaborate with researchers, faculty, and students.

A university with a social mission

During the formal ceremony, Dr. Santiago García expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership agreement with Roland Berger. He emphasized that the university has always had a strong social mission since its founding, with a focus on contributing to Latin America.

“The university’s commitment has focused on training outstanding professionals, distinguished not only by their academic abilities but also by their character,” said the president . “I hope that our collaboration with Roland Berger will allow us to further realize the university’s potential in this regard.”

He also highlighted the importance of combining traditional academic training with holistic personal development in today’s workplace, emphasizing the need to build a strong team. He further emphasized Panamericana’s commitment to establishing partnerships that place its students in the best positions.

A shared dream between Berger and UP

For his part, CEO Gilberto Lozano Meade expressed his satisfaction at signing a partnership agreement with the Universidad Panamericana, especially since he is an alumnus of the university: “This initiative stems from a shared vision between both institutions, one that took shape about a year and a half ago, he said.

The CEO noted that, over time and in line with the company’s needs, they plan to expand and strengthen the partnership agreement. In particular, they hope this will serve as a starting point for contributing to the university’s growth by identifying and nurturing talent that the company can leverage.

In addition, they aim to raise Mexico’s standards both nationally and internationally, particularly in the areas of data sharing and public policy. He also emphasized the importance of exploring new areas and fostering disruptive and transformative processes in the country, and announced the launch of joint initiatives.
