Mexico City, February 17, 2023.— With the aim of strengthening the relationship between Ciudad Panamericana and the Huixquilucan municipal government, both institutions celebrated the signing of a collaboration agreement to promote a stronger academic and educational culture.

The event, held at the Ciudad Panamericana facilities, was attended by representatives from the Municipality of Huixquilucan: Dr. Romina Contreras Carrasco, Municipal President; Alma Rocío Rojas Pérez, M.A., General Director of Administration; and Dr. Eduardo Cortes Hernández, Legal Director.
Representing our university were Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, President of La Panamericana; Salvador Beltrán del Río Madrid , M.A., Director of Institutional Development; Francisco Gamboa Barrón, M.A., Director of Graduate Studies at the School of Government; and Gabriela López Rodríguez, M.A., Assistant Director of Institutional Development.
The agreements
Thanks to the agreement that was signed, scholarships will be awarded to residents of Huixquiluque, and scientific research projects, programs, training sessions, certificate programs, and graduate programs will be developed .
Similarly, the aim is for this initiative to drive technological development, innovation, and basic engineering; as well as to promote and foster educational, cultural, artistic, scientific, and technological activities that support the creation of new, high-impact companies.
In Support of Education
Regarding this, Romina Contreras said: “We met to express our gratitude for this support in the form of academic scholarships and research grants, which will benefit our municipality, and we are promoting city council projects to foster the creation of high-impact businesses that will generate jobs in the region.”
The mayor took the opportunity to reiterate her support for the Pan-American Highway and added,“Consider us an ally, because we are in favor of education (…)”.
Dr. García Álvarez later explained that, thanks to this agreement,“the two institutions are joining forces to work toward the common good for the benefit of the municipality of Huixquilucan, where Ciudad UP is located.”
The university president also spoke about the interest in replicating the Spark UP model—our university’s business incubator and accelerator—in Ciudad Panamericana.
This will make it possible to develop projects that help address issues such as inequality and poverty, through initiatives that foster synergy and collaboration between our university and Huixquilucan.
Ciudad Panamericana seeks to position itself as the largest private campus in Latin America. For its construction, it has taken into account the needs of companies, organizations and the world in general, in order to train students accordingly and provide society with professionals committed to building a better world.
