Ciudad Panamericana commits to Huixquilucan

Mexico City, February 17, 2023 - With the aim of strengthening the relationship between Pan American City and the Government of the Municipality of Huixquilucan, both institutions signed a collaboration agreement to promote a greater academic and educational culture.

Dr. Romina Contreras Carrasco, Municipal President; Ms. Alma Rocio Rojas Perez, General Director of Administration and Dr. Eduardo Cortes Hernandez, Legal Director were present for the event, which took place at the facilities of Ciudad Panamericana.

The other participants from our university were Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, Rector of Panamericana; Mr. Salvador Beltrán del Río Madrid, Director of Institutional Development; Mr. Francisco Gamboa Barrón, Director of Graduate Studies of the School of Government and Ms. Gabriela López Rodríguez, Assistant to the Director of Institutional Development.

The agreements

Thanks to the agreement signed, scholarships will be granted to Huixquiluquenses and scientific research projects, programs, training, diplomas and postgraduate courses will be developed.

It also seeks to promote technological development, innovation and basic engineering production, as well as educational, cultural, artistic, scientific and technological promotion and encouragement activities that favor the generation of new high-impact companies.

In favor of education

On the above Romina Contreras said: "We met to thank this collaboration of academic scholarships and research projects, for the benefit of our municipality and we are promoting projects of the city council to generate high impact companies that will provide jobs in the region".

The Municipal President took the opportunity to reiterate her support to the Pan-American and added: "look at us as an ally, because we are in favor of education (...)".

Afterwards, Dr. García Álvarez said that thanks to this signature "both institutions are joining forces to achieve the common good for the benefit of the municipality of Huixquilucan, where the UP City is located.

The Rector also spoke of the interest in replicating the model of Spark UP, our university's business incubator and accelerator, in Ciudad Panamericana.

With the above, it will be possible to develop projects that help solve problems such as inequality and poverty, with initiatives where there can be synergy and collaboration between our university and Huixquilucan.

Ciudad Panamericana seeks to position itself as the largest private campus in Latin America. For its construction, it has taken into account the needs of companies, organizations and the world in general, in order to train students accordingly and provide society with professionals committed to building a better world.
