Mexico City, May 31, 2024 - On May 24, the LXXXVI Assembly of FIMPES was held in Mexico City. FIMPESheld at the Universidad Anáhuac México, North Campus.
The event focused on the approaches and concerns affecting Higher Education in the country, addressing topics such as political changes, the impact of artificial intelligence on education, the role of rectors in a transitional environment, sustainability projects and the integration of young people into the world of work and business.
The rectors also had the opportunity to listen to their students' perceptions about higher education, their concerns and opinions; they also discussed nearshoring and changes in the work environment, emphasizing the new competencies to be developed in higher education.
New Secretary of FIMPES Board of Directors
Likewise, during the assembly, Dr. Fernanda Llergo Bay, General Rector of the Universidad Panamericana and IPADE, was appointed secretary of the Board of Directors of FIMPES for the period spring 2024-spring 2026. Dr. Llergo has taken over the position from Dr. José Manuel Asún Jordán Sch. P., former Rector of Universidad Cristóbal Colón.
The Board of Directors, in charge of executing the resolutions of the Assembly, is composed of prominent rectors from member institutions of the Federation, including Juan Pablo Murra Lascurain and Yoani Paola Rodríguez Villegas, among others.
Academic Integrity
Similarly, at the event, Institutional Accreditation and Academic Integrity awards were presented to institutions that favorably completed their self-study processes and to those committed to promoting academic integrity in their university communities. One of these institutions was Universidad Panamericana,which was awarded the Distinction of the 2nd Level of Academic Integrity.
The label consists of three levels: level 1: Transparency; level 2: Commitment. Academic Integrity Plan; level 3. Integrity. Panamericana has achieved Level 2, and continues its efforts to achieve the highest level.
Finally, our university obtained a favorable favorable opinion for the inclusion of Ciudad Panamericana in the current accreditation.. After a verification visit last November, it was confirmed that this campus meets the necessary quality criteria, granting it the highest level of accreditation by FIMPES.
