The program provides a humanistic education through in-depth study of the culture and philosophy of each historical period.
The program offers a strong foundation in the history of ideas, combining historical analysis with research seminars. This approach encourages reflection on classical philosophical problems and provides a deeper understanding of the context and spirit of our times.
The program lasts two years and is divided into four semesters. Each semester includes three consecutive seminars in History, Ideas, and Philosophy, each consisting of ten three-hour sessions. In addition, the first and third semesters begin with a two-week seminar in Research Methods. The program is structured chronologically, with one semester devoted to each historical period: Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Modern Period, and the Contemporary Period. The specialized seminars focus on topics corresponding to the historical period studied each semester.
The program is open to professionals from any academic field who hold a bachelor’s degree and wish to deepen their study of humanistic, historical, literary, and philosophical questions.

The master’s program offers graduates a continuing education program consisting of four Saturday sessions per semester organized around a common theme. These sessions are offered in a hybrid format, with the option of attending in person at UP’s Santa Fe campus or participating remotely via Zoom.
The program is offered on campus, with classes held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This format allows for direct and sustained interaction with faculty, fostering philosophical dialogue within the academic community.

Each course is assessed through an essay-style research paper submitted at the end of the module, allowing students to integrate the knowledge acquired throughout the course.
