Future leaders solve case studies at UP Guadalajara

Zapopan, Jalisco; November 3, 2025. The Business School of the Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara Universidad Panamericana organized the Business and Management Case Competition (BMCC) 2025, an international event that brought together outstanding business students from universities in various countries.

From October 27 to 31, students from 15 international universities participated in this academic competition that combines strategic analysis, leadership, and teamwork, consolidating our institution as a global benchmark in business education.

International competition with a Mexican stamp

In teams of four, participants solved real-life cases from leading companies such as Atlas FC and Tajín, iconic companies in the city that shared their success stories for analysis by future business leaders.

The atmosphere at BMCC 2025 combined academic excellence with Mexican cultural richness. During their stay, visitors enjoyed cultural activities such as the traditional Mexican lottery, tours of Tlaquepaque and Calaverandia, and experiencing the Day of the Dead festivities up close.

University inspiration and Pan-American tradition

The closing ceremony and awards ceremony were held at the historic Ex Convento de Santa Teresa, where Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade, rector of the Guadalajara campus, highlighted the importance of this competition in the international academic context.

"It is a privilege to be in a place where stone, light, and silence find refuge. We are especially pleased to welcome the executives accompanying us from Tajín and Atlas. Thank you for being here, interacting with universities, industries, colleges, schools, and learning from each other," said Dr. Abraham Mendoza, who emphasized the importance of the cultural heritage of the Day of the Dead.

"This is a celebration of love. We remember life at the altars, with photographs of those we love. We do this because we understand that what came before is important."

University inspiration

Following his remarks, Dr. Carlos López, vice-chancellor of the Universidad Panamericana Guadalajara, praised the teamwork of the national and international participants who gathered in the city.

"We are very pleased that you have been part of the Universidad Panamericana week. We are sure that from now on you will see our campus as your own home. The BMCC is a truly unique and inspiring event that has brought together talented students from leading international universities in the heart of Mexico and Latin America," recalled Dr. Carlos López.

On behalf of the participating companies, Aníbal Fájer, president of Atlas FC, praised the young people's performance:

"It was incredible to see how they presented it, how in less than six hours they were able to understand the case, we were able to understand the nuances of our business. It's incredible to see how this young talent has really combined his skills with intelligence, with tools that come from professional intelligence to build something very amazing, very impressive," he said.

Winners of the BMCC 2025

After an intense week of competition, the jury announced the winning teams:

  • First place: IE Business School (Madrid, Spain).
  • Second place: Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba (Canada).
  • Third place: North Carolina State University (United States).

The event concluded with a gala dinner and celebration where students shared experiences and strengthened international ties.
