COLLABORATE

So, as part of World Down Syndrome Day, at COLABORE, a Strategic Social project of the Social Engagement department, we prepared our event called Down Syndrome Snakes and Ladders, the traditional game of snakes and ladders with the addition of questions about Down Syndrome that helped us all learn and become more aware of the topic. The first person to reach the last square on the board wins. With two boards and giant dice, instead of using tokens, the participants were the ones who played this role, moving forward or backward depending on the case.

The variant here was that, in order to have the right to advance the number that came up when rolling the dice, the participant had to correctly answer a question about Down Syndrome. If the participant knew the correct answer to the question, they advanced double points, if they did not know the answer they were given some options, the important thing was that they knew the correct answer.

At the end, participants answered between 5 and 7 questions each to learn more about Down Syndrome, the most common cause of intellectual disability in the world.
