Aguascalientes, Ags., May 31, 2024.- Students of Innovation and Design Engineering from our Panamericana campus in Aguascalientes, Ags. Panamericana campus Aguascalientes participated as creators of the floats for the spring parade of the San Marcos National Fair 2024 (FNSM).
The board of the National Fair of San Marcos contacted the director of the Innovation and Design Engineering career, Ms. Marian Michelle Gámez Oliva, with the intention of having the support of students of the career to participate and develop the design project of the floats of the traditional spring parade of FNSM.
After several interviews, two students were selected to carry out the project: Marcela de la Rosa López and Sara Rodríguez Lamas from the Innovation and Design Engineering program.
According to the theme of the parade, several proposals were presented for each float. The process included sketches, 3D modeling, plans and renderings. Once the designs were approved by the President of the Board of Trustees, production began. For four months we supervised the construction, assembly and painting of all the elements of the floats.
"For us, it was a great opportunity to put into practice everything we learned during our studies through a project that required the use of all the tools and skills of an Innovation and Design Engineer, combining creativity with ingenuity and technical design," said the students.
Thematic and selection
The theme of the parade was fantasy, which had already been defined from the beginning of the planning of the FNSM 2024. Based on this theme, 12 representative aspects of Aguascalientes were selected to be used as a reference in the design of the floats, adding a playful and fantasy touch.
"On April 25 at 10 a.m., when the floats paraded, we were able to see reflected all the effort and commitment that together with the Patronato team we invested in this project, which was also recognized by the Governor of the State and the President of the Patronato de la Feria de San Marcos. Undoubtedly, it is a project that fills us with pride and marks the beginning of a great professional career," they say.
In addition, the students were in charge of several important aspects of the parade, such as coordinating the tractors, supervising the construction in the workshop and implementing special effects for each float, among other tasks.
