UP brings together academic leaders at RIE 360 to promote educational innovation in Mexico

Mexico City , March 19, 2026.— Universidad Panamericana ’s Mexico City (Mixcoac) campus hosted the semiannual meeting of the Educational Innovation Network (RIE 360), reaffirming its leadership in transforming higher education in Mexico through inter-institutional collaboration and the promotion of innovative educational models.

The event, held in a hybrid format, brought together academics, researchers, and educational leaders from various institutions, strengthening dialogue and cooperation around pedagogical innovation.

What is the RIE 360 Educational Innovation Network?

The RIE 360 Educational Innovation Network is a collaborative, inter-institutional ecosystem that promotes the research, implementation, and evaluation of innovative educational practices, with the goal of improving the quality of higher education and addressing the challenges of the global environment.

As part of its institutional mission to promote a comprehensive, innovative, and cutting-edge educational ecosystem, the Universidad Panamericana welcomed prominent academic leaders and specialists from highly prestigious institutions of higher education, including the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Anáhuac University, ITESO, the University of Guadalajara, the Ibero-American University, the National Polytechnic Institute, CETYS, the Benemérita Autonomous University of Puebla, and the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.

The event began with welcoming remarks by Dr. Teresa Nicolás, representing the National Institute of Technology and Higher Education ( Universidad Panamericana), and Dr. José Escamilla, from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. 

As the host institution, the University of the Pacific ( Universidad Panamericana ) designed and implemented a strategic agenda focused on academic collaboration and joint reflection, aimed at promoting purpose-driven educational innovation. This approach was widely appreciated by the participants, who highlighted the relevance and richness of the academic exchange that took place.

Progress on Strategic Priorities

During the meeting, progress on the three strategic pillars of RIE 360 was presented:

  • Artificial Intelligence in Education: Exploring the Future of Integrating Emerging Technologies into the Classroom
  • Teacher Training: Developing Academic Skills to Improve Learning
  • Educational Innovation: Implementing Methodologies That Improve Educational Quality

These priorities reflect the participating institutions' commitment to modernizing educational models and making a difference in learning.
