UP and University of Notre Dame strengthen their strategic alliance with a shared vision of innovation and human values

Mexico City, June 26, 2025.Universidad Panamericana to strengthen its partnership with the University of Notre Dame, a relationship that has grown since 2018 around a shared vision of holistic education, academic excellence, and a commitment to social transformation. 

This is reflected in a recent official publication by Notre Dame, “ND Mexico builds bridges: Universidad Panamericana the power of shared values in enterprise and innovation”, which highlights the impact of this collaboration and its future prospects, based on the values shared by both institutions.

The visit by a high-level delegation from Notre Dame to the Mexico City campus in October 2024 marked a new milestone in this relationship. During their stay, they reviewed joint projects in fields such as philosophy, the humanities, law, business, and engineering. 

Strengthening programs such as the International Law Summers, research fellowships at the Kellogg Institute and the initiatives of the Nicola Center for Ethics and Culturereflect the breadth and depth that this collaboration between the Universidad Panamericana Notre Dame has achieved. 

In addition, there is the ongoing participation of professors, researchers, and university officials in academic visits, research stays, and even teaching activities.

On average, at least five academic representatives from different campuses of the Universidad Panamericana, mainly from fields such as the Humanities and Law, including vice-rectors and institutional leaders, which demonstrates the strategic importance of this partnership for the university community.

Student mobility: a key pillar of international education

Student student mobility has established itself as one of the most important pillars of collaboration between the Universidad Panamericana and the University of Notre Dame. Since 2022, Notre Dame students have participated in academic and cultural programs on the campuses in Mexico City and Guadalajara, while students from the Panamericana have had the opportunity to experience educational experiences at Notre Dame, gaining access to environments of high academic and personal quality.

A prime example that paves the way for a new form of collaboration is that of Eduardo Aranda, an alumnus of the Mexico City Campus Law School, who joined the graduate program ESTEEM at Notre Dame with a significant discount, continuing an academic journey he had begun years earlier.

Their participation reflects a strategic partnership between two institutions that firmly believe that ethical and innovative solutions are essential to addressing major global challenges.

This type of academic exchange not only enhances students' professional profiles, but also strengthens their global perspective, critical thinking, and capacity for intercultural dialogue.

An international experience allows them to broaden their understanding of today’s social, ethical, and economic challenges and to acquire the skills needed to exercise transformative leadership from a humanistic perspective that has a real social impact.

As part of the ongoing growth of this collaboration, an intercampus visit by researchers in the field of engineering from the Universidad Panamericana the University of Notre Dame. The goal of this academic mission will be explore new opportunities for research collaboration.
