" Universidad Panamericana " was honored with the Best Paper Award at the Mobile Learning 2026 International Conference, organized by the International Association for the Development of the Information Society (IADIS), thanks to the research conducted by Daniela Olea-Ibarra and María Teresa Nicolás-Gavilán of the Institutional Center for Educational Innovation (CIIE).

This international recognition highlights the academic quality and research impact of the Universidad Panamericana in the areas of digital education, educational technology, and student-centered learning models.

UP Research Recognized for Innovation in Mobile Learning
The award-winning paper, titled "A Multi-Mobility Framework for Institutional Mobile Learning: Insights from Formal and Informal Data", proposes an innovative framework for analyzing how learning mobility occurs within institutional educational ecosystems, integrating formal learning data—such as blockchain-based digital microcredentials—with university students’ informal learning experiences.
The study examines the role of mobile devices in learning and how they transform educational experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
Educational Technology and Digital Microcredentials
The research develops an eight-dimensional model of learning mobility, which helps us understand how students move between contexts, technologies, competencies, and social spaces both inside and outside the university.

The study is aligned with the principles of the Connect UP educational model of the Universidad Panamericana, particularly in its focus on meaningful connections between the individual, innovation, society, and the student’s holistic development.

Furthermore, the research highlights how these forms of mobility interact structurally to reflect different levels of institutional maturity in mobile learning ecosystems.
Educational Innovation with International Impact
The recognition received at the IADIS international conference establishes the Universidad Panamericana as a leader in research on educational technology, digital learning, and academic innovation on the international stage.

This achievement strengthens the Universidad Panamericana ’s international presence in educational research and academic innovation, and reflects the institution’s commitment to developing educational models focused on learning, technology, and the well-rounded education of students.
