March 17, 2023.- To formally recognize the value of the work of researchers of the Universidad Panamericana is of the utmost importance. It is for this purpose that, once again, the Research and Teaching Degree Investiture Ceremony was held on the Aguascalientes, Mexico City and Guadalajara campuses.
Recognition of talent
Dr. Fernanda Llergo Bay, Rector General of UP and IPADE, who was present at each of the ceremonies held, said: "The faculty is the essential pillar that sustains our institution, because the deep educational work is developed primarily through teaching, which, from the transmission of knowledge, represents an invitation to reflect, to acquire intellectual and ethical habits. (...) "The objective of the search for truth through research represents advances in knowledge, the engine of progress, and this already has a social dimension," said Dr. Llergo.
A raison d'être
In Mexico City, Dr. María de los Ángeles Padilla Lavín, Institutional Director of Educational Planning and Innovation, said: "It is the professors who have to make the university more their own, that is why you cannot be a professor for short periods of time, being a professor is a reason for life".
He also reminded those present: "(...) the university professor does not function only with acquired and accumulated knowledge, he does not limit himself to administering knowledge, to imparting it, but to constantly renew the condition of superior knowledge to which the university is committed."
While the rector of campus Mexico, Dr. Santiago García Álvarez, said: "Today's world certainly requires research and teaching that generate hope. Spaces where faith and reason give an answer, not only intellectual but also experiential, that can transform the lives of many people". He also called on those invested to be an example, to have confidence and to live Christian charity.
To promote the company's
On the Guadalajara campus, Dr. Abraham Mendoza Andrade, Institutional Director of Research, mentioned: "Academic life does not walk on the margins of society; we also wish to promote the social projection and visibility of our professors in the different academic and scientific communities to which they belong".
He concluded, "Our academic model revolves around a true education of the person. We believe in encounter and dialogue as essential means to create a true learning community."
Dr. Sergio Velázquez Rodríguez, vice rector, spoke on behalf of the rector of campus Guadalajara, Dr. José Antonio Esquivias Romero, and said: "It is a source of great pride for our university to be able to award you this investiture today. We know that this will reinforce the commitment that each one of you has made to the institution and its students, training in values and applying them in your professional and personal actions.
Conveying the truth
At the Aguascalientes campus, Dr. Gabriel Domínguez, campus rector, said: "Thanks to the professors, the oxygen of knowledge reaches each of our students, alumni and other members of the Pan-American community, oxygen that allows each of them, each of us, to live today, but, above all, in the future (...)".
"What a great job! Transmitting the truth and providing others with the necessary tools so that others can preserve it for themselves too, as adults who are their own masters. What an important and beautiful job we teachers have!" he concluded.
The vested
In total, 21 professors were invested this year, an honor that responds to their training and experience, both academic and professional, as well as their notable production in research, social projection and competencies and identification with institutional values.
As the Rector General rightly pointed out, the valuable contributions of each of these researchers make possible the academic excellence and human excellence that distinguish us as a university.
