About Rankings by Subject
THE World University Rankings by Subject, in engineering and Business & Economics, uses the same reliable and rigorous performance indicators as Times Higher Education's 2024 World University Rankings , but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit individual fields.
It includes leading universities in the following disciplines: general engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering and chemical engineering.
As for Business & Economics, the ranking evaluates universities by their performance in the following disciplines: business, management, accounting, finance and economics.
In order to appear in the ranking of a discipline, it is necessary that institutions have more than 500 papers indexed in Scopus, of the specific discipline, published in the last five years.
Worldwide, more than 1,800 universities were evaluated. Specifically, in Engineering, only 18 Mexican universities were ranked, as they are the only ones that meet the required standards. Of these, only two are private institutions.
In the case of Business & Management, only four universities in Mexico were evaluated (including Universidad Panamericana), two private and two public.
